The Great British Bake Off 2024, is a baking competition, where several home bakers join the infamous tent to bake the best dishes of their lives and impress Paul Hollywood and Prue Leith, the judges of the show.
The show premiered its fifteenth season on September 24, on Channel 4 for British audiences. Netflix is the official streaming channel for the show, and it premiered episode 1 on September 27, for US fans.
In series 15 they started with 12 home bakers from all walks of life to serve their baking skills and win this renowned show. The show has released two episodes, and bakers were tested to put their best bake forward in 'Cake Fakery' and 'Biscuit Puppet Theatre'.
In episode 2, Biscuit Week, two bakers bid farewell to the white tent, Hazel and Jeff. Out of the remaining bakers is John Mincher, a 37-year-old Directorate Support Manager from West Midlands.
John Mincher had tried his hand at hairdressing and real estate but found his forte to be working in NHS. Baking for John is a way of rejuvenating when he is not working. His grandmother is his biggest inspiration and he wishes to honor his memory by keeping the baking tradition alive in the family.
He calls himself a proud Wulfrunian and enjoys blending classic and modern techniques when it comes to baking.

John won the 'Cake fakery' challenge in week 1 of The Great British Bake Off
John was the first contestant to win the star baker recognition in the show by impressing the judges with his Denim jeans cake, which seemed so real to the judges, that they wanted to try it on. John dedicated the cake to his grandmother and mentioned that she was his inspiration since he was 3.
The task of week 1 of The Great British Bake Off was to create a fake cake that resembles anything of their choice and make it look like exactly the object. John did fine work and won the judges' recognition for the same.
The Great British Bake Off 2024 airs on Channel 4 every Tuesday at 8 pm ET. The US Fans can tune into Netflix three days later to the original broadcast to enjoy the baking battle.
