In The Equalizer Season 5, Episode 2 the team dealt with a rather strange case. Befitting its title, Haunted Heights, the team dealt with a case that felt like being influenced by supernatural entities.
In this episode, McCall investigates an apartment building whose residents believe it is haunted. Their suspicion was mainly fueled by a young woman's claims that her grandmother was pushed down the stairs to death by some supernatural being.
Though the police rule this out as an accidental death, Robyn, hired by the granddaughter, does not believe it. Quickly resolving their differences that arose because Harry and Mel left Robyn in a precarious situation in the last episode, Robyn updates Harry about the case and he comes onboard.
Harry does not believe the involvement of any supernatural entity and thinks that there must be some logical explanation behind this. To prove that he is right, Harry decides to spend the night in that apartment and sets up cameras, motion sensors, and light sensors all over the place.
However, as he is left alone in the place as Robyn leaves him to help Marcus, Harry starts to hallucinate. While talking over the phone with Mel, Harry starts swatting at something that is not even there, compelling Mel to get back on the job.
Ultimately Mel reaches on time to save Harry. Together, they understand that someone was consciously exposing the residents to carbon dioxide so that they would hallucinate and believe something sinister is going on.
It turns out that among the brother and sister who co-owned the apartment, it was the brother’s girlfriend who did this to drive the tenants away so that her boyfriend would sell.

The episode will follow Harry on an undercover mission as he helps Robyn track down a woman who lives a secretive life online.
