The Equalizer is based on the 1980s CBS series of the same name and centers on a New York city woman who has a mysterious past and takes down the bad guys.

Queen Latifah as Robyn McCall
Academy Award nominee Queen Latifah is back in The Equalizer Season 5 as Robyn McCall. She is as usual leading the team and the show.
Her character, Robyn McCall is an ex CIA operative. She now takes to the streets of New York City in order to serve justice in true vigilante-style. Her skills as an ex-CIA come handy in her endeavor to protect the people of New York.
Besides being a protector of the people in the show, Robyn is also a single mother to her daughter Delilah. She has to balance her professional and personal life since after her divorce, her daughter’s responsibilities are mostly on her.
Apart from featuring as the lead in The Equalizer, Queen Latifah has worked in several other interesting projects, including but not limited to, Chicago, Hairspray, and Taxi.
Adam Goldberg as Harry Keshegian
Adam Goldberg plays the role of Harry Keshegian, who is a hacker, and works closely with Robyn. His character is an extremely important one in The Equalizer.
Goldberg’s character, Harry, is best known for his intense dedication that he showcases when it comes to maintaining his non-negotiable ethics and morals.
He is also very dedicated to the job, as previously he had faked his own death with the help of Robyn in order to get off the grid.
Besides The Equalizer, Goldberg previously worked in critically acclaimed projects like Fargo, Saving Private Ryan, and A Beautiful Mind.
Tory Kittles as Marcus Dante
Tory Kittles plays one of the major characters in The Equalizer, Marcus Dante, an NYPD officer.
In the beginning, when Tory was introduced in the series, he was busy investigating the vigilante ways of Robyn. He hoped to put an end to her ways of serving justice, before she could go too far.
However, over the years, Tory’s character named Marcus has warmed up to Robyn and has become one of her closest friends and allies.
While Tory’s return in season 5 was in doubt since his character went away for a new job at the end of season 4, he has come back in this season, much to the happiness of fans.
Kittles is a TV veteran and before The Equalizer, he has been seen performing in shows like True Detective, Colony, and Sons of Anarchy.
Liza Lapira as Melody "Mel" Bayani
Liza Lapira has been part of the cast of The Equalizer as a regular character named Melody "Mel" Bayani. She is an old friend of Robyn, someone who has known her since their time together in the U.S. Air Force.
Since she worked with the military, Mel has gifted abilities as a lethal sniper and she uses these skills to make the best use of her position in this team as well.
To a number of team members’ surprise, Mel is also the owner of a bar, which the team now uses as their secret operations spot.
Liza Lapira has previously worked in 2009's Fast & Furious and Crazy, Stupid, Love. Recently, she gave her voice to the Inside Out 2 character, Disgust.
Lorraine Toussaint as Viola "Aunt Vi" Marsette
Another regular cast member of The Equalizer is Lorraine Toussaint, who plays the role of Viola Marsette, popularly known as Aunt Vi.
Viola is Robyn’s aunt who also takes care of Delilah, Robyn’s daughter, when Robyn is out doing her job.
Previous seasons of the show have shown Aunt Vi struggling with feelings of guilt as she thinks that she cannot protect the ones she loves.
However, through her work with the team, she has proven herself multiple times.
Toussaint has previously worked in various notable projects, which include the likes of Hudson Hawk, Orange is the New Black, Nimona, and Selma.
Laya DeLeon Hayes as Delilah
The Equalizer’s youngest cast member, Laya DeLeon Hayes, portrays the role of Delilah, who is Robyn’s daughter.
She and Robyn had faced a number of difficulties with regards to their relationship as a mother and daughter. However, when Delilah figured out what Robyn does, it made it easier for her to bond better with her mother.
Though being a young talent, Hayes was the lead in Doc McStuffins, where she gave her voice to the title character. She also featured in intriguing projects like Liv and Maddie and Hey Arnold: The Jungle Movie.

- James Ciccone as Leo: Ciccone takes up the role of Leo, a guest-star appearing on the second episode of the ongoing season.

- Juan Javier Cardenas as Salazar: The first episode of The Equalizer Season 5 will feature Cardenas as Salazar, in a supporting guest role. He is a potential antagonist, who will be seen kicking off the season in explosive fashion.
- Michael Reagan as Travis: The second episode of The Equalizer Season 5 introduces the character of Michael Reagan's Travis. The show has potentially already teased that he might get on the wrong side of Robyn’s wrath.
