Frederick Forsyth's novel The Day of The Jackal, which was adapted into a 1973 film of the same name, is getting a British remake. The movie is being adapted into a 10-episode series starring Eddie Redmayne and Lashana Lynch.

The political thriller is getting a modern retelling. It follows The Jackal, a dangerous international assassin and an MI6 agent who is tasked with identifying and catching him.

While the show is inspired by the novel, it claims to add a fresh perspective and adds another deviation from the classic story of The Jackal. The series will show The Jackal with a dual identity, one of a killer and a man with a secret family.
