The Day of the Jackal has been keeping the audience hooked to the screens with the cat-and-mouse chase game between The Jackal and Bianca Pullman. The show follows a famous assassin who goes from one disguise to another to get the job done.
However, the assassin gets on the radar of the MI6 agent, Bianca, who takes up the mission to investigate him and expose his identity. Amid the chase, The Jackal has a wife to look after, a Spanish woman named Nuria, who knows him by the alias Charles Calthrop.
In The Day of the Jackal episode 10, scheduled to air on December 12, 2024, the assassin is eager to get back to Nuria while being on the run from the authorities. The Jackal wants to return to Nuria as she is the only normal part of his life, and because Bianca is closing in on his family.
Why does The Jackal want to go back to Nuria?
In The Day of the Jackal episode 9, The Jackal reveals his secret of being an assassin to Nuria when she confronts him. Nuria had seen a newsflash with an identikit image of Charles Calthrop, realizing that her husband was an assassin.
Following the confrontation, The Jackal goes to Croatia to complete his mission of shooting tech mogul, Ulle Dag Charles (UDC). After killing UDC, The Jackal desperately wants to return to Nuria, as she represents some safety for him.
By returning to his wife, the assassin aspires to hold onto the only normal part of his life. The Jackal has promised Nuria that the UDC mission will be his last, and he wants to end his violent career to keep his family together.
However, he is struggling to keep that promise. Meanwhile, Bianca is determined to find The Jackal. She hears about a sniper report from Spain and begins to piece together who he is.
When Nuria’s brother Alvaro sets up a business deal between The Jackal and a deadly Cuban gangster, Jimmy Tejero, the assassin kills the gangster using a drone to keep his family safe. But, this assassination catches Bianca’s attention, as she realizes that it might be done by the sniper she has been tracking. She becomes even more determined to uncover The Jackal’s secret, and is willing to investigate his family.
If Bianca finds Nuria, it could bring serious trouble to her and their son Carlito. This puts more pressure on The Jackal to immediately return to his family, as he knows his actions could harm the people he loves most.
How does Nuria get to know about her husband’s real identity?
In The Day of the Jackal episode 8, Nuria uncovers Charles’ secret. It all starts when she notices some strange behavior on his part. After dropping him off at the airport, she sees him driving in the opposite direction.
Nuria eventually discovers a hidden room in their home, which raises her suspicions. After The Jackal makes a failed attempt at killing UDC, Nuria finally realizes the truth. She watches news reports and sees sketches of the Jackal, noticing how much he looks like her husband.
That’s when she puts everything together and realizes Charles is The Jackal, a dangerous assassin. Nuria is hurt and shocked by the truth but decides to keep his secret temporarily. However, her family does not trust Charles, which might make it harder for her to protect him.
