What happened in The Day of the Jackal 5 episode series premiere?

The show premiered with five tense and thrilling episodes that have made a solid base for the events of the sixth episode to unfold. The premiere made it clear that Bianca knows that Jackal had fitted the snipe in his suitcase after dismantling it.

She also came to know that Norman Stokes had made that customized weapon for Jackal. As episode 4 came to an end, Larry was caught by Bianca and taken into custody.

Despite Jackal always keeping his identity a secret and never meeting his clients, in this case, he was ordered to be babysat by Zina given the huge stakes that were associated with this mission.

Episode 5 saw Bianca figuring out Jackal’s next target to be the UDC and torturing Larry for more information on Norman. Though not initially having revealed anything, Larry eventually breaks and gives Bianca information.

Jackal and Norman have immense mutual respect as it is for him that Jackal breaks protocol and goes ahead to help him. However, as Bianca eventually catches Norman and tortures him to extract information, he is shot dead by Jackal with the same rifle that Norman had made for him.

After this Bianca’s team spots Jackal and goes after him. However, he manages to escape and realizes that if luck wasn’t in his favor, he would not have made it out. The ending of episode 5 sees Jackal going inside a farm where he falls asleep after hiding his gun under a haystack.

However, when he opens his eyes, he sees a man standing there with a gun pointed at him. Before he can do anything, Jackal is assaulted and handcuffed with no possible way of escaping.

The man’s identity is not revealed though it can be guessed that he is probably the farm’s owner who just came in and found Jackal lying there.

What to expect from The Day of the Jackal Episode 6?

Given where episode 5 ended, it is very likely that episode 6 will focus on Jackal’s attempts to get out of that farm. Since the man who captured him does not seem like any of his adversaries, it is expected that he will be able to get out of there.

Since Bianca and her team are also after him, episode 6 will probably show what Jackal's next moves would be to successfully complete this high-stakes mission. Since He has already broken protocol regarding Norman and further complicated the situation, it remains to be seen how he is going to come out of this whole mess and finish the project he took up.

Episodes 1-5 of The Day of the Jackal can be streamed on Peacock.
