What happened in Season 4, Episode 1 of The Cleaning Lady, a recap

The season opens with Thony, Fiona, Luca, and Chris appearing for the Visa interview. Thony states that she wants to be a doctor again, while Chris asserts that he wants to live with his girlfriend, Camilia. Thony is asked if she has ever been involved in a crime. This moment takes us to the timeline of two days ago, where the events unfold.

Russo is an FBI agent who offers to sponsor Thony and Fiona's entire family visa as a reward for helping with the arrest of Ramona Sanchez a month ago. Katherine acknowledges their struggle as Fiona and Chris live in constant fear of getting deported, while Thony faces other immigration issues while trying to save his son's life.

Russo meets Thony after the interview. She is followed by 2 cars all her way, and a petrol bomb comes rolling towards her and explodes, killing her. Thony blames Ramona for the attack. Jorge, the new cartel leader after Ramona presents a new plan for earning through mining a rare metal, but El Don asks him to get Ramona's opinion on the same, and that infuriates him.

On the other hand, Chris takes Fiona's jewelry to know its worth and gets caught when the police get involved. The jewelry turns out to be from a major robbery that took place three years ago. Fiona reiterated in the interrogation that it was a gift from another friend. Tension rises between Chris and Fiona, and the latter tells him to pursue his passion, but the undocumented status is creating a hindrance for Chris.

How does episode 1 of The Cleaning Lady end?

Thony visits Jorge and is curious to know how Ramona is still controlling things from prison. While they are in between conversations, a sniper shoots, and they escape from there immediately. Jorge's bodyguard tries to find the sniper, and Jorge shoots the assassin, finally questioning him about his leader. Another assassin shoots the original sniper before he can answer anything, while one assassin shoots Jorge before he dies in The Cleaning Lady.

Thony now tries to get her family visa through Ramona, while Jorge warns her not to take any favors from her, as it can have consequences. Thony comes forward to conduct Jorge's surgery, saving his life. This is how she becomes the cartel doctor in the hope of getting a medical license through Jorge's connections.

This leaves Fiona alone with cleaning responsibilities. The episode of The Cleaning Lady ends with Thony receiving a call from Ramona.
