Paramount+ Showtime's American drama show The Chi was announced for Season 7 in May 2024, ahead of the release of Season 6 Part 2.
Created by Lena Waithe, the show follows the lives of residents living in a neighborhood on the South Side of Chicago, whose lives are connected in unexpected ways. The Chi explores the themes of family, friendship, and companionship.
While there is no confirmed date for Season 7, the show is expected to return in 2025 according to TVLine.

The Chi Season 7 was renewed in May 2024
The Chi Season 6 was released in two parts, one premiered in August 2023 and the other in May 2024. Following the debut of Part 2, the show was also announced for Season 7, and it was reported the cast and crew had already begun production for the upcoming season.
Nina L. Diaz, the president of content and chief creative officer of Showtime announced the renewal for Season 7:
''On the heels of a record-breaking season and ahead of this week’s return, we’re excited to provide fans with the promise of more – ensuring that they can continue to enjoy the raw, emotional stories and unforgettable characters that have made this seminal series a resounding success for Showtime.''
However, there is no release date for Season 7 as of now. But considering previous patterns for Seasons 5 and 6, it takes about 12-13 months for the cast to bring another season of the show.
Since Season 6 wrapped on June 30, 2024, The Chi Season 7 could premiere in the first half of 2025, between June and July 2025.
It is likely that Season 7 will also follow in its predecessor's footsteps, and the show will be released in two parts. However, since nothing has been confirmed yet, we will update you about the release date for Season 7.

What has actor Luke James said about The Chi Season 7?
In an interview with The Direct, actor Luke James talked about how Season 7 will explore his character Victor (Trig):
"I'm really interested in fleshing out [Trig's] duality. I know we're hinting at it. We're talking about it within the first half and the second half of Season 6. ''
He added:
''In Season 7, I'd like to see him get a hold of that duality knowing that, trying to be--being this image in the day but also having to be this figure at night. I just think it would just be fun to play with and something different that I haven't done yet. I think it'd be a really cool move, hopefully, to move the story forward."
Season 6 showed new character arcs that will be explored in Season 7. Kevin left the city to go after his dreams, which would be a high point in Season 7.
Jake took over his pad, and his life will also take a new turn in the following season, with him trying to make something of his own. In addition, tensions surrounding his relationship with Jemma will also be explored in the upcoming season.
