The latest episode of The Challenge All Stars: Rivals, was a dramatic one. Titled This is Why We're Rivals, the episode, 10th of the season, was aired on April 2, 2025. Tension has increased as the final championship assignment approaches and the five surviving teams battle to win Season 5.

The episode brought to light the underlying rivalry and friction that have prompted the establishment of the partnerships. Desperate to get back their stolen star, Nany and Turbo used a calculated elimination play for revenge.

In the meantime, Shane Landrum almost walked away with the $300,000 prize during a furious altercation with partner Da'Vonne Rogers that stunned both competitors and the spectators.

Shane said "I'm physically exhausted" and was "fuming," at one especially intense point.

As the season draws to a close, its 'formula of 26' means that the All Star competitors must put aside their differences and learn to work together, though the animosity born from the tumultuous past they share continues to provide gripping drama for fans.

What happened in Episode 10 of The Challenge All Stars: Rivals?

The episode's daily challenge, Pressure Sandwich, forced rivals to maintain physical contact while navigating a forest obstacle course. Teams had to hold puzzle pieces together like a sandwich while collecting additional pieces along their journey.

Frank and Sam emerged victorious, completing the course without dropping a single piece. Their seamless teamwork earned them immunity from elimination and showcased how far they have come as partners.

On the opposite end of the spectrum, Shane and Da'Vonne's partnership crumbled during the challenge. Shane's frustration boiled over, resulting in a public meltdown that drew criticism from fellow competitors.

"Talk to people with kindness! A little bit of human decency!" Adam shouted at Shane after witnessing his treatment of Da'Vonne.

The most dramatic moment in the episode came when Shane labeled Da'Vonne as:

"one of the most stressful partners" and accused her of playing the 'victim.'"

His anger escalated to the point where he threatened to quit the competition entirely — a move that would have automatically eliminated Da'Vonne as well.

Shane's threat highlighted the unique challenge of the Rivals format: Participants of the show must work with people they might dislike, in order to achieve success.

Once he had calmed down, Shane came up to Da'Vonne and apologized tearfully. She answered with impressive poise:

"I don't know how much longer I can bite my tongue with you."

She urged him to consider why he snaps at other people who might be trying to assist him.

Even though the two eventually patched up and competed again, their emotional ordeal showed how the game affects players' mental health.

Following the loss of their star in the previous episode, Nany and Turbo adopted an unusual strategy — actively campaigning to be sent into elimination. Nany worked the social game, asking teams to throw them into the arena.

Meanwhile, Turbo took a more philosophical approach, observing from a distance.

"Humans are snakes," he remarked while watching the social dynamics unfold.

Their wish was granted when the house voted them into elimination against Adam and Steve, setting up a high-stakes battle between two formidable teams.

The elimination arena showdown

The Challenge elimination challenge, Star Bluff, combined psychological gameplay with physical prowess. Teams first engaged in a poker-faced deception game, trying to determine whether stars were hidden in boxes by reading their opponents' reactions.

The second phase required transferring yoga balls using unwieldy sticks, with advantages earned during the bluffing portion. Adam and Steve started with a crucial one-point advantage.

Despite Nany and Turbo's determination, Adam and Steve secured their fifth elimination win of the season, cementing their reputation as elimination specialists and sending Nany and Turbo home.

With Nany and Turbo eliminated, four teams remain to battle for the $300,000 prize: Frank and Sam, Adam and Steve, Da'Vonne and Shane, and Melissa and Nicole.

In her The Challenge exit interview, Nany showed remarkable sportsmanship, calling Turbo "the best partner ever" despite their loss — a testament to how the Rivals format can transform contentious relationships.

Next week's episode promises an epic finale as the remaining teams face the ultimate test of their partnerships in the The Challenge All Stars: Rivals final challenge. After weeks of betrayals, arguments, and grudging cooperation, only one team will emerge victorious — proving they could overcome their rivalry when it mattered most.

The Challenge airs Wednesdays at 8 p.m. ET on MTV.
