The Challenge 40: Battle of the Eras has wrapped up the season with an intriguing finale. The journey of the show has been full of competition, drama, rivalry, showmance, and whatnot. After vying for almost 5 months for the title and the prize money, it came down to this exhilarating moment, when the final eight contestants grappled in a two-part finale in the waters, to taste the success.
For the fans, this moment might appear fleeting, but these eight contestants gave their sweat and tears to be here. The eight finalists to wrangle in the finale were Derek, Johnny Bananas, Jordan, Kyland, Jenny, Michele, Rachel, and Tori. Each contestant was backed by their compelling narrative, previous accolades in the show, allies, and enemies.
However, the winner's place had only two spots. Revealing the result in part 2 of The Challenge 40, which aires on Wednesday, January 8, 2025, the show has added three more challenges to the list of winners. Yes, you read it right. The season had not two but three winners.
Despite giving a tough one-on-one competition, some challengers catapulted their spot and grabbed the winning chair with the much underestimated "Karma points".
Let us have a look at these three winners of The Challenge 40: Battle of the Eras.
Jordan Wiseley, Jenny West, and Rachel Robinson were crowned the winners in The Challenge 40: Battle of the Eras
The Challenge 40: Battle of the Eras crowned two female champions this season, making it a three-champion season. If fans are wondering how it all worked out, the answer is Karma points. The competition was fair and square, and the show would have gotten a completely different winner, especially in the female vertical, if Karma's votes were not accounted for.
The eight challengers joined TJ Lavine after a laborious task that placed Tori and Bananas last, and Derek and Rachel first. The contestants had to start by expediting to the fifth checkpoint which was an extensive task requiring swimming, paddling through a cave, and finding a hidden beach. The challengers had to find the key to unlock a boat and navigate back to the starting point.
Tori who earlier wanted to quit, got a boost of confidence by getting on the boat first. However, the winner, Jordan, struggled to paddle due to her childhood condition. But who can stop a winner from making? Jordan and Jenny became the first to ch the Submerging Terror checkpoint.
For the sixth checkpoint, the contestants had a mathematical problem waiting for them. But that was not it, it included solving the problem and swimming back to the Sinister Island. Jordan and Jenny set the record straight by winning this checkpoint as well, and before entering the last checkpoint, Michele and Derek came second followed by Rachel and Kylan,d and lastly, Tori and Bananas.
Jordan smashed the record by winning all the checkpoints across the board. So, he was reining as a clear winner. However, from the women's team, Michele was first to enter the checkpoint before anyone followed. After finishing the task Rachel and Bananas stood second, Tori and Derek followed as the third placer and Jenny and Kyland stood fourth.
Ultimately, the moment of truth appeared as TJ announced that Karma points were equivalent to two checkpoints. And announced Jordan Wisley as the winner. Jenny was already on top by winning most of the checkpoints and was joined by Rachel after adding a karma vote to her advantage. This is how a historic season came to its culmination.
The Challenge 40 winners, Rachel and Jenny were elated to share the winner's title and Jenny added in a confessional:
"To be crowned champions together is just like, the dream outcome."
The Challenge 40 aired part 2 of the finale on January 8, 2025, on MTV at 8 pm ET/PT.
