The Challenge 40 aired episode 6, My Real Friends Era on September 26 on MTV at 8 pm ET/PT. The episode witnessed two challengers' elimination, Brad Fiorenza from Era 1 and Jonna Mannion from Era 3.
Both players lost the elimination challenge,' To the Point' against Cory and Rachel, and had to pack their bags from the show. This reality TV series is one of the longest-running shows and first aired in 1998 on MTV.
The Challenge 40 invited contestants from all previous seasons and divided them into four Eras to amp up the competition and drama.
In episode 6, Tina and Nehemiah, the winners of last week's elimination challenge could choose their targets for the week. They were: Brad & Rachel for Era 1, Bananas & Laurel for Era 2, Cory & Jonna for Era 3, and Josh & Jenny for Era 4.
All contestants relied on their connections in the game to skip the elimination arena, and also on their teams to win the weekly task for their fifth challenge.
The contestants performed the Cloud Catcher challenge where the players were required to solve a riddle and attach a maximum number of helium balloons to their station. The team to stand at the bottom would have its target in the elimination arena.
Era 4 won the Cloud Catcher challenge, giving the elimination control to Jenny and Josh. Era 1 lost which sent Brad and Rachel into the elimination arena.
What happened in the elimination challenge in episode 6 of The Challenge 40?
Players competed in the To the Point challenge. The winning team Jenny and Josh decided to send Cory and Jonna against Brad and Rachel. Jenny and Josh saved Bananas and Laurel from Era 2 against their own team's opinion as Jenny and Josh both had good connections with Bananas and wanted to save him.
Era 4 members Olivia and Kyland also suggested Josh send Bananas and Laurel to the elimination arena as they would get this opportunity again to get rid of both in one go. Josh and Jenny discussed who to send for the elimination challenge, and Josh told Jenny to do what was best for them and not the team.
Josh and Jenny chose Cory and Jonna from Era 3 which made Cory angry and he even assured Josh that if he came back from the elimination challenge, he would go after them both.
Jonna on the other hand questioned their trust in Bananas and why Jenny and Josh expected Bananas to save them in the future. However, decisions were made, and Cory and Jonna faced Brad and Rachel in the To the Point challenge, where the players had to launch a ball towards a spiked wall.
The player to put the maximum number of balls on the spike would win the challenge.
Brad and Cory were the first to go for the elimination challenge. The task was tougher than it looked. However, Cory managed to put more balls on the spike, making Brad lose by a close call of 4-3.
Subsequently, Rachel and Jonna stepped forward for the challenge, and Rachel won by 5-3, sending Jonna home in the episode 6 elimination round.
The Challenge 40 airs a new episode every Wednesday on MTV at 8 pm ET/PT.
