Tori targets Johnny, Ryan sent home in The Challenge 40 Episode 10

This The Challenge 40 episode opened with T.J. Lavin announcing that the competition would now shift to an individual format. The remaining contestants, who had relied on their teams for much of the competition, would now have to navigate the game on their own.

Johnny "Bananas" Devenanzio quickly formed new connections by assembling an alliance of female contestants, including Aviv Melmed, Jenny West, Laurel Stucky, and Rachel Robinson. Meanwhile, other competitors, such as Michele Fitzgerald, Olivia Kaiser, and Nia Moore, joined forces to improve their standing in the game.

Daily Challenge: Fire Away

The daily challenge, named “Fire Away,” required the contestants to collect balls and place them in their respective cylinders before completing a puzzle that depicted the number 40. The sweltering heat made the task even more challenging, with several contestants visibly struggling to complete the challenge.

Michele Fitzgerald, in particular, suffered from the heat and collapsed during the challenge. Despite requiring medical assistance, she was able to continue in the competition.

For the men, Jordan Wiseley emerged as the winner, solidifying his place in the game. He completed the task ahead of the others, despite Johnny making a mistake by placing two of his balls in Jordan’s cylinder. Tori Deal once again dominated for the women, finishing first and securing her position for the next round of The Challenge 40 Episode 6.

Elimination Arena: Killer Quads

Jordan Wiseley and Tori Deal, as the winners of the daily challenge, were given the authority to decide which male competitors would face off in the elimination arena. She, along with Jordan, chose Johnny to face off against Ryan Kehoe in The Challenge 40 Episode 10 elimination round. Ryan, a close friend of Johnny, expressed reluctance, but accepted the outcome as part of the game.

The elimination challenge, titled "Killer Quads," required the two contestants to race quad bikes around a track while attempting to grab ribbons from each other’s vehicles. The first competitor to successfully grab the ribbon twice would be declared the winner and remain in the competition, while the loser would be eliminated.

In the first round, Johnny quickly gained the upper hand. Ryan struggled with his quad, which stalled during the race, allowing Johnny to win the round with ease. The second round saw a brief moment of hope for Ryan, as he attempted to grab Johnny's ribbon.

However, Ryan’s foot slipped, causing him to lose momentum. This mistake gave Johnny the opportunity to secure the second win, resulting in a 2-0 victory.

Ryan’s errors, combined with Johnny’s experience and quick reactions, ultimately sealed his fate in the game. Johnny emerged victorious, keeping his place in the competition despite being targeted by several The Challenge 40 players.

Aftermath and new targets

Following his elimination win, Johnny was given the power to choose three female competitors as targets for the next elimination. T.J. reminded the contestants that Tori Deal, as the winner of the daily challenge, was immune from being selected, which frustrated Johnny, given the ongoing tension between them.

Despite this setback, Johnny wasted no time in making his choices. He selected Nia Moore, Olivia Kaiser, and Michele Fitzgerald as potential elimination candidates. His decision was largely influenced by his strategy to weaken the alliances that had formed against him and his ongoing desire to exact revenge on those who had targeted him earlier in The Challenge 40 competition.

Michele, already physically weakened from the daily challenge, now faced the added pressure of possibly being eliminated. Meanwhile, Nia and Olivia were also left vulnerable, knowing that their chances of survival in the game were becoming slimmer.

Johnny "Bananas" Devenanzio’s elimination victory reinforced his reputation as a dominant player, while his decision to target three strong female competitors left the house on edge.
