Bill Hader was a movie theater employee before he became a comedy icon on Saturday Night Live (SNL). He comically lost his job after giving away the Titanic's conclusion to a bunch of the people who came to watch the iconic movie. In a recently resurfaced story, Hader described the incident in an interview with John Mulaney, describing a young usher merely attempting to control a rowdy crowd.

The SNL star recalled when a sorority made fun of him and called him Charles Manson. Though he had no issues with the reference, things got a little out of control, and Hader ended up dropping the biggest spoiler of the movie.

“So when they went in, as I tore the tickets, I was like, ‘Enjoy the movie. The boat sinks at the end. Leo dies.’ And they were like, ‘No, he doesn’t.’ I go, ‘Yeah, you think he’s asleep. But he’s frozen.’ And that showed them,” he revealed.

The brutal honesty got a big reaction, and not the good kind. Within moments, the damage was done.

Holding back his smile, Hader's manager ended up firing Hader after the incident. Despite being asked to leave, Hader now laughs when he recalls the incident, citing it as one of the numerous bizarre encounters that influenced his natural ability to be funny. He has undoubtedly been making jokes ever since, but not at the expense of the box office.

Bill Hader's career had some comically difficult beginnings before he became a household name and Saturday Night Live (SNL) icon. Hader worked in a movie theater, and he was famously fired for making the infamous error of giving away the plot of Titanic to the whole audience. It was the kind of incident that could destroy anyone's self-esteem, but for Hader, it was just one of many turning points in an extremely uncertain career.

According to the Saturday Night Live (SNL) star, the incident occurred when a sorority group interrupted a Titanic movie screening and started making fun of his appearance. Fed up after attempting to gently persuade them to move, Hader tore their ticket and gave one of the most brutal movie spoilers ever. Shortly afterward, the manager came over to him and grinned, telling him he would have to fire him. And he was suddenly without a job.

Being fired, however, didn't mean the end; rather, it brought about a surprising chance. Hader was fortunate enough to get a job on a movie production as personal assistant to Arnold Schwarzenegger. Even while the position was demanding and brief, it gave him a firsthand look at the entertainment industry's backstage operations and added another oddball chapter to his life story.

Hader eventually discovered his real purpose. He was found by Saturday Night Live (SNL) producer Lorne Michaels and joined the cast in 2005 after years of perseverance, improv training, and odd jobs in Los Angeles.
