According to the latest reports, Warner Bros. Television is now working on another The Big Bang Theory spin-off titled Stuart Fails To Save The Universe, and ever since the news broke back in March, the sitcom fans have been going crazy. The upcoming addition to the franchise carries the name of one of the OG characters, Stuart Bloom, who is portrayed by a well-known face, Kevin Sussman.
Per Deadline, Chuck Lorre Productions is also majorly invested in the project (as expected), and following the success of other spin-offs, namely Young Sheldon and Georgie & Mandy’s First Marriage, SFTSU also promises to bring back another titular character in good form. Stuart, whose personality is not that strong like the other characters, will supposedly again walk down the path of unfortunate events that always encircle him, hence the title.
Does the title Stuart Fail To Save The Universe already tease the future of The Big Bang Theory franchise?
Stuart Bloom has always been portrayed as a character built on low self-esteem. Misfortune, most of the time, seems to find his weak spots, and given his personality, Stuart often struggles to find a way to be "himself" around women.
As a cosmic crisis culminates, Stuart finds himself at the core of it, and the upcoming series revolves around him and how his new journey unfolds. Star Kevin Sussman will be joined by Lauren Lapkus (who portrays Stuart Bloom's love interest, Denise) alongside John Ross Bowie (in the role of Barry Kripke) as well as Brian Posehn (playing the part of Bert Kibbler).
Stuart is portrayed as a supporting character in The Big Bang Theory and is seen as the owner of a comic book store. His lonely, depressed avatar has always had an urge to join the Big Bang team - though he always ended up being the sidekick in the room.
Now, as Stuart gets his own spin-off series (and even the title suggests so), the kind-hearted yet unlucky character will take us on a journey of his own. So far, further details on the plot are being kept under wraps, but will Stuart be able to save the universe?
That obvious question comes with multiple answers and theories, and the name of the show suggests a conclusive statement (or maybe not). Being a fan-favorite face, Stuart will finally get his deserved screen time, though it is still speculated whether things will get better or worse for him. So far, no premiere date for the upcoming TBBT spin-off has been made official yet.
More about The Big Bang Theory franchise
The Big Bang Theory first aired on CBS back in 2007 and has ever since gained a lot of popularity among the classic sitcom fanbase. Chuck Lorre is a major name whose contribution to the show is invaluable - not to mention Bill Prady, Steven Holland, and Steven Molaro.
The franchise extended beyond the OG show with two major spin-offs down the years, and more is yet to come. Sheldon Cooper and Leonard Hofstadter are two pivotal characters of TBBT who have been portrayed as Caltech physicists, as their friends and neighbors join them. The sitcom builds on romance, humor, science stuff, comedy, and heartbreak. But to the core of all of it is an obvious deep meaning.
