At the beginning of the episode, Grant, along with the seven women, headed to Edinburgh in Scotland. Here, it was revealed that four roses would be given to the lead so he could hand them out later. This meant only four women would be able to make it to the Hometown week.

Soon after the dance and festivities were over, Grant and Julianna spent some alone time together and opened up about their past. Revealing more about her upbringing, she said that there would always be a person around her who had a problem with addiction.

Grant related to this aspect of her life, reminiscing how his dad was an addict too. The two bonded over this shared experience and comforted each other. He then reassured her of their connection together and, in a confessional, even said that it was "special." By the end of the date, the two shared a kiss while fireworks went off in the background.

A group date was arranged for five women to spend time with Grant. One of them was Carolina, who made it visibly clear that she is not on board without having personal time with Grant.

The eliminations or the Rose Ceremony as they call it, were about to begin but Carolina had one final thing she had to say. She and Dina used to be friends till episode 4 but things soured between them after the group date in this episode. Carolina decided to make amends and apologized to her. Then Grant was asked to hand out the roses.

He decided to save Dina, Juliana, Litia, and Zoe. Grant did not give a rose to Alexe, Carolina, and Sarafiena, expressing his sadness over letting the other three go.
