The Amazing Race is all set to kickstart its new season on March 5, 2025. After 36 successful seasons, fans of the American reality TV show look forward to yet another adventurous journey around the world.

The CBS show follows contestants as they enter in a race around the globe. This year, 14 teams of two people in pre-existing relationships will backpack through different countries. This season's race will begin in Los Angeles and, after covering Hong Kong, Japan, and Portugal, the first couple to cross the finishing line at Miami will take home a cash prize of $1,000,000. To sustain viewer interest, the contestants them through cultures and traditions of each country they visit.

Phil Keoghan has been hosting the host since its first episode, and he returns to fulfill his hosting duties in 2025.

An integral part of The Amazing Race for over two decades, Phil John Keoghan will once again lead the contestants to the ultimate adventure of their lives.

Born in Lincoln, the 57-year-old television presenter has been face of the once-in-a-lifetime race since 2001. Keoghan originally auditioned for another CBS reality show, Survivor, but the network subsequently decided him to offer the hosting duties of The Amazing Race.

With season 37 ready to air, Phil Keoghan offers a sneak-peek into the new season.

"We know the audience loves the airports; we know the audience loves mixing things up. We know that the audience loves going to new places, like Slovenia in Season 35. We got so much great feedback about Slovenia, so expect to see some new destinations, and also trying some new things."

To boost the excitement among the fans further, he reveals how the new season will be full of surprises,

"We wanted to do a season where there were a few surprise elements, so I guess that's what I would say would summarize what we did. There's just some things that come of left field for the contestants and I think the viewers will find it fun. Not necessarily new twists but just surprises."

Achievements

In 2008, Keoghan won the World Class New Zealand award in Creative category. Later in 2014, he was designated a 'Member of the New Zealand Order of Merit.'

As a reality TV host, Keoghan has received four nominattions at the Primetime Emmy Awards till date for his work on The Amazing Race, besides 10 Emmy wins in the capacity of the show's co-producer.

Keoghan was inducted into the International Sports Hall of Fame in 2018, after being honored as one of the six 'Emerging Leaders' in 2012 at Sir Peter Blake Leadership Awards. He had a stint as a reporter on the New Zeland TV series, That's Fairly Interesting, and also co-created Keoghan's Heroes.

Professional Journey

In addition to being a reality TV host, Keoghan is a cyclist, author, motivational speaker, and documentary filmmaker.

After encountering a near-death experience when he was 19, Keoghan decided to pen down a bucket list in No Opportunity Wasted, the book he co-authored with Warren Berger. He also created a documentary film that covered his ride across America in 2011, titled The Ride.
