The Agency Episode 7 ending explained: Martian's plans with Samia and Alexei

Paramount+'s The Agency is getting intriguing with every episode, and Martian's cover is very close to being blown by Osman. Episode 7 saw Martian and the CIA doing everything possible to rescue Agent Coyote and infiltrate General Volchok's group.

The Agency Episode 7 saw Osman getting close to revealing Martian's true identity as he followed his daughter Poppy. While Sami still believes that Martian is Paul, an aspiring writer, Episode 8 might change that as Martian sets up a fake meeting to 'recruit' her for the CIA. Whether he plans on recruiting her or leaving with her for good remains to be seen.

Is Martian really planning on recruiting Sami?

At the start of The Agency Episode 7, Martian discusses his plans with Henry and Naomi to recruit Sami to learn the secrets of the meeting between the Sudanese and Chinese officials. Martian deliberately hides the part about his secret affair with Sami, and Henry agrees.

However, Martian can't talk to Sami because she is being watched over by Osman and his men in her hotel room. Earlier in the episode, she escaped to Martian's home, thinking he is still an aspiring writer, Paul, but couldn't reach him. Osman captures her again and warns her not to pull anything like this again.

Martian makes an elaborate plan to talk to Sami by sending her a fake email from the University that sanctioned her visa. He writes in the email that Sami must visit their office because she has been missing her lectures, which could result in the cancellation of her visa. When she visits the office in the final moments of Episode 7, she is shocked to see 'Paul' there.

While Martian is there to recruit him, we know that he is still in love with her and might leave everything for good.

Why did Martian recruit Alexei in The Agency Episode 7?

In The Agency Episode 7, we learn about General Volchok's Valhalla, a mercenary group that carries out secret operations for whoever pays them, does not differentiate between civilians and military, and kills whoever comes their way. It is revealed that General Volchok plans to hand Coyote to the Russian Government, and Martian threatens Alexie to bring intel about him to the CIA.

Reluctantly, Alexie disguises himself and asks to meet with the General to pass on some important information about how the company is fraudulent and stealing from him. As explained by Martian, Alexie has to gather information about Valhalla and Volchok's surroundings, which might help the CIA to get Coyote back.

Is Volchok aware that Alexie is sent in by the CIA in The Agency Episode 7?

While Alexie passes Volchok's test by not p*ssing his pants when a gun is pointed towards him, he still sees through his cover and realizes that the CIA has sent Alexie to gather information about Coyote.

The final moments of Episode 7 reveal that Volchok realizes this, and it would be a crucial plot point for the next episode, where it would be interesting to see whether he would retaliate against the CIA and kill Alexie or be interested in negotiating with them by demanding a heavy prize for Coyote.
