Love is Blind couple, Dave and Lauren, in the most recent episodes dropped by Netflix on February 21, 2024, met with her friends at the workout bar where she works part-time.
When asked about their relationship, Lauren only had positive things to say. However, Dave showed his skepticism and highlighted the issue of Lauren's ex-partner.
She had been seeing a guy for a couple of months in what was strictly a physical relationship. Lauren says that she had broken up with him, but Dave, his sister, and his friends don't seem to fully trust her.
They know the guy through mutual connections and claim that Lauren was with him the night before leaving for the pods.
While talking about this mystery guy's situation with her friends, Love is Blind star Dave says,
"I guess that's what I'm trying to figure out. It has been a lot, especially, with, like, the connections that I have with, you know, the guy and certain people. It's just kind of been a lot for me to try to also hear, but then also trying to explain to friends and family... I don't what's real or what's not. I don't know what's true or what's not."
Love is Blind star Dave expresses his doubts about Lauren and her past
Supporting their best friend on Love is Blind, Lauren's friends took her side and insisted that she was never fully with the guy, nor did they date. They argued that if she had been dating him, they would have known about it. They also claimed that the guy "wants to be on TV."
Even after Lauren's friends defended her, Dave did not seem to budge from his perspective, saying that the timeline of events did not feel comfortable to him. This made Lauren emotional, and she started crying.
Her friends denied the claim that Lauren was with the guy before leaving for Love is Blind, insisting that she was with them. Later, when her friends left, Lauren tearfully asked Dave to trust her and address the things that had been making him uncomfortable.
Later in the Love is Blind episode, the two got into yet another argument at the apartment while discussing whether or not Lauren should meet Dave's family and friends. She struggled to understand why this issue was impacting their relationship so much, given that it was in the past.
Lauren again defended herself, saying that what his friends were telling him was not true at all. But Dave admitted that he no longer knew what was true and what wasn't. He said:
"Apparently this guy thinks that you guys were together literally, like, within 48 hours of you leaving for the experiment. I mean, my friend was with this guy on a ski trip like a week ago. And so it came straight from him."
Voicing his doubts, Dave said he couldn't make sense of the fact that Lauren had just h**ked up with someone and then immediately entered the pods looking for a serious relationship.
Lauren broke down again and explained that it was strictly just a "friends with benefits" situation with the guy, which did not mean anything. She expressed frustration, saying she had been "so honest" with Dave about everything, yet he still did not believe her. This made her feel "helpless" in the situation.
Love is Blind Season 8, Episodes 1 to 9, are currently streaming on Netflix, with the remaining episodes set to release on February 28, 2025.
