The latest Married At First Sight: Australia Season 12 episode featured couples on the couch, facing the experts. When it was Awhina and Adrian's turn, the situation became tense.

The couple faced the question about a family and friends dinner, which Adrian stated "didn't go well." Initially, he didn't want to "go into details," but since the experts mentioned it was already filmed and they were going to watch it, he stated:

"My sisters were being intimidating and I felt her sister was being a bit aggressive."

When both of them agreed on how the dinner went as "expected," later on Adrian shared that the last two weeks had not been "healthy." He added that both of them were aware of that.

After one of the male cast members intervened and stated that Awhina couldn't express her feelings and accused her of needing permission from Adrian to speak, one of the experts, John, asked her about it.

"It's not that I feel like I need permission. It's that sometimes I feel like, it will cause a rift between us if I go into too much detail about certain things. And I don't want to hurt Adrian's feelings. You know I care about him," responded Awhina.

"So it's for me, this morning when I woke up, I woke up feeling still hurt and sad, but I also woke up feeling hurt and sad for Adrian. Does that make sense? So even though I felt like I don't like Adrian's behavior right now, but I obviously still care for Adrian. Because I'm worried about how he's feeling in this moment."

Awhina then, while answering, asked Adrian whether he had ever told her he liked her. Again, John told Awhina the third time, same question.

"This is the third time I'm going to have to ask this question and it's a pretty straight forward one, why do you like Adrian? Now what you're doing is you're not answering the question, which makes me think you don't like him. So what is it?"

The Married At First Sight: Australia cast member answered that in the last ten days there haven't been a lot of moments when she had liked Adrian. She referred to it as the "honest truth." Listening to that, Adrian responded that she didn't need to start with a "negative."

The expert, John, asked Awhina the same question for the fourth time. When Adrian mentioned that he wanted to answer, Awhina insisted she wanted to do it.

She responded that she liked him at the moment when he didn't recognize that she was watching. She mentioned that sometimes, Adrian looked at her "in a way" that had "true sincerity." She also talked about his love for his friends and family.
