"That's a gift": The White Lotus star Ke Huy Quan breaks down his Season 3 cameo

In the latest episode of The White Lotus, the audience got a blink-and-you-miss cameo from Academy Award-winning Ke Huy Quan. The actor has a voice cameo in episode 2 of The White Lotus season 3. We hear him as Kenny Nguyen during a phone conversation with the wealthy businessman Timothy Ratliff, portrayed by Jason Isaacs. The White Lotus is a murder mystery series, which centers around a luxury resort in Thailand, and its many colorful guests and staff.

While speaking about his unexpected cameo on the show, Ke Huy Quan told ET,

‘Honestly, to be a part of this incredible series in any capacity, that's a gift.’

Quan’s screentime in The White Lotus may be limited, but the conversation brought to front the problems awaiting Isaacs’ character in the season. Quan, a self-proclaimed fan of The White Lotus creator Mike White said that he did not think twice when he was approached for the cameo.

‘I'm a huge huge fan of 'White Lotus,' Mike White and the entire creative team. When they asked me to do this, I said yes right away. I didn't even hesitate.’

He added,

‘I was very happy to work on this (even if) it was a voiceover’

Quan’s name is now attached to the stellar star-cast of the series that includes Natasha Rothwell, Parker Posey, Leslie Bibb, Carrie Coon, Michelle Monaghan, Walton Goggins, Patrick Schwarzenegger, and Blackpink’s Lalisa Manobal among others.

Ke Huy Quan is known for his performances in movies such as Everything Everywhere All at Once, Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom, and the cult classic The Goonies. He will be next seen in Netflix’s The Electric State.

Timothy Ratliff is a wealthy businessman who is on vacation with his wife and three children at the wellness resort, The White Lotus in Thailand. But ever since he arrives at the place, some unexpected problems arise. He is contacted by a journalist, who is digging into his murky finances. Trying to understand the situation, he phones his former business associate, Kenny Nguyen.

When Kenny finally gets back, Timothy questions him about the call from the journalist. A panicked Kenny tells him that a whistle-blower from his office ratted him out to the media and the FBI, and his office was raided. Timothy reminds him that the whole shady financial deal was just a favor and if he gets in trouble for it, he will kill Kenny. To which Kenny responds, ‘If it makes you feel any better, I’m gonna f***ing kill myself,' and Timothy hangs up.
