As the world gears up for the holiday season, it's time to slip under the blankets with some popcorn and enjoy Netflix's upcoming animated fantasy comedy, That Christmas. This Simon Otto's directorial debut is co-written by Richard Curtis, the writer of Notting Hill and Love Actually along with Peter Souter. The film is based on the children's Christmas trilogy books, That Christmas and Other Stories, written by Curtis.
The movie showcases an unforgettable night for the people in the fictional town of Wellington- on-Sea when the worst snowstorm alters everyone's plan including Santa.

The plot of That Christmas
The film tells the story of the worst Christmas night when a heavy storm hits the small town of Wellington, altering everyone's and Santa's plans. The film is a commentary on how the most traditional of holidays evolve and flex as per contemporary values and beliefs.
The nostalgic Christmas vibe blends with some hard-hitting realities of the families the film portrays. Danny's parents are getting divorced, it is not something one usually sees in a Christmas movie but, it reflects how real-world problems affect kids' experiences on holidays.
Just a day before Christmas all the parents find themselves stuck in the storm that compels the kids to take charge of celebrating the festival without them adding up to the already overwhelming Christmas.
