Anna Torv shared a poster of the series on Instagram and announced its release date, writing:
"Lovely ANNA TORV in a lead role, as Emily Lawson in new drama "Territory". Premieres on 24 October, 2024 on Netflix #ANNATORV."
Territory will be coming on Netflix on October 24, 2024. All the six episodes of the show will be dropped together, giving the viewers a chance to binge on this neo-western drama.
What is the plot of Territory?
Set in the remote Northern territory of Australia, the show features a dangerous battle for legacy and land that threatens to topple a highly powerful family dynasty.
When his son dies, the ruthless Colin Lawson (Longmire’s Robert Taylor) finds himself without an heir to inherit the world’s largest cattle station. While his other son, Graham (Michael Dorman) is an alcoholic, his daughter-in-law Emily (Anna Torv), has worked really hard to get a position at the table.
Among the contenders of the cattle station are also the grandkids of Colin, including college dropout Susie (Philippa Northeast) and runaway Marshall (Sam Corlett).
The official Netflix synopsis reads,
“Sensing this once-great dynasty is in decline, the outback’s most powerful factions — rival cattle barons, desert gangsters, Indigenous elders and billionaire miners — move in for the kill. With billions of dollars at stake, everyone wants a piece of the pie.”
Who is in the cast of Territory?
One of the major characters in Territory, Emily Lawson, is played by Anna Torv. Torv is best known for her role in The Last of Us, as Theresa ‘Tess’ Servopoulos and as Helen Norville in The Newsreader. Torv also starred as Olivia Dunham in the sci-fi series Fringe. Her other works include, Fires, Mindhunter, Force of Nature: The Dry 2, and Nautilus.
Another key character, Marshall Lawson, is played by Sam Corlett. He is best known for his role in Vikings: Valhalla as Leif Eriksson. His previous works include, Chilling Adventures of Sabrina, The Dry, and He Ain’t Heavy.
