Survivor is returning to reality TV with a new and thrilling season. The show has been running for more than two decades, and fans still can't get enough of it. Season 47 premiered on September 18, 2024, on CBS. The show has welcomed its 18 castaways to the Mamnuca Island in Fiji.
As per the format, these 18 castaways are divided into tribes. This season, the contestants are divided into three tribes: Gata, Lavo, and Tuku. The show has released three episodes so far, and three contestants, Jon, TK, and Aysha, have been eliminated as well. The castaways are put through weekly challenges to test their mental and physical abilities, and whoever performs poorly bids farewell to the show.
Before the show started filming, the cast of Survivor 47 made some striking predictions about the current season, exclusively on Entertainment Weekly. Let us look at the season 47 cast predictions and how far they were right or wrong.

What season 47 of Survivor holds, according to the cast of the show?
The cast of Survivor 47 joined Entertainment Weekly for an interview before the show started filming and shared their 'bold predictions' about the season. Some predicted or manifested that they would be crowned the 'Sole Survivor.' One of them was Jon, who belonged to the Gata tribe. Ironically, he was the first contestant to be eliminated from the show in the One Glorious and Perfect episode. Aysha Welch predicted that a guy would be voted out first. She stood right in her prediction as Jon was eliminated in episode 1.
The cast members Caroline and Teeny Chirichillo predicted that this season will return to the two-tribe format. Sadly, to their disappointment, the season divided the castaways into three tribes. Caroline confessed that, being a fan, she wanted this season to bring back the two-tribe format. Most of the cast members wanted themselves to win; therefore, they predicted their name as the Sole Survivor. Sue Smey said:
"I will be the oldest woman to ever win Survivor."
However, most cast members made predictions about 'the idol.' The idol is one of the most important components of the game, as it helps the contestants forge immunity for themselves and gain advantages in the game. Most of these idols are hidden in the tribes' camps. Sam Phelan predicted that there would be two idols hidden in season 47. He said:
"There will be two successful idol plays, one in Mergatory. This group won't make same mistakes as Survivor 46."
Another contestant, Solomon, predicted that no one would go home with an idol in their pocket. Genevieve, on the other hand, confidently predicted she would find an idol and play it correctly.
Other members predicted that this season would have a 'Family visit' section. In this section, the cast's family members or loved ones visit them and either participate with them in the challenge or help them. Besides all these predictions, it would be fascinating to witness whether this season will disappoint the castaways by not being true to their predictions or whether the castaways will boast after the show's end about their prediction skills.
Fans must stay tuned to CBS every Wednesday at 8 pm EST to watch Survivor 47.
