Survivor 47 came out with another episode this Wednesday, December 4, which was full of suspense, betrayal, and fake idol scenarios. As Kyle Ostwaald bid farewell to the castaways in the last episode, only seven people were left on the island to compete for a spot this week. This week's immunity challenge brought a heartwarming reward for the winner, while losers kept on contemplating about the elimination.
As episode 12 of Survivor 47 opened, Caroline and Sue were discussing their importance in the game while preparing the rice. Genevieve who got saved last week, admitted that "The best thing for my game is to shrink", and therefore offers an apology to Andy. Later, she tried to persuade Teeny that Rachel could be a big threat in the game, and therefore she was the next target.
Rachel, who had the advantage of "Block-a-vote" and a hidden idol felt "secure" in her alliances as Teeny told her about Genevieve targeting her. Soon, it was time for the Reward Challenge, and the winners were served with Survivor Sanctuary and letters from their loved ones.
Let us have a look at how things unfold in the twelfth week of Survivor 47 for the castaways and who wore the brunt of elimination.
Sam grabs the "reward" while Rachel wins the Immunity Challenge in episode 12 of Survivor 47
For the reward challenge in episode 12 of Survivor 47, the castaways had to crawl through an obstacle made up of sandbags; retrieve a ball from the net tunnel, and find another ball to throw both balls onto the raised perches. Sam and Rachel went head-to-head till the very last, but Sam was the first to throw the balls.
Sam was then asked by the host, Probst, to name two more members home he would take along to the Survivor Sanctuary, where they would be treated to wine, Italian treats, and letters from home. It should have hardly been a surprise for the viewers when he named Genevieve and Andy.
However, Teeny was having a hard time digesting that and told Probst:
"I think it was a foolish decision for Sam to pick her, and is actually going to have a horrible outcome for their game.”
Teeny further added "I hope they enjoy the last supper" as she turned towards the rest of the castaways.
On the other hand, the reward winners cherished heartwarming words from their families and enjoyed Italian treats while they opened up to each other. Genevieve received a letter from her father who guessed that she would have made a lot of friends. She also received a letter from her husband. Sam got a letter from her brother while Andy received a letter from his brother.
Before the immunity challenge, Sam, Andy, and Genevieve hatched a plan and named it "Operation: Italy" in which they decided to present Sam's expired idol as an immunity idol to fool the underdog alliance and influence their decision at the tribal council to take out Rachel.
For the Immunity Challenge, the castaways follow a tough balancing task that requires "dexterity". Rachel became the only contestant to complete the task and won her second consecutive immunity. Now, it was the time to play out "Operation: Italy" as Rachel was safe while Caroline and Teeny became the new targets.
Andy took the responsibility of persuading the girls of the underdog alliance to split their votes while Genevieve showed Teeny the fake idol. In all of this chaos, Rachel thought of using her advantage but Andy told her to not use it.
Finally, Probst welcomed the castaways to the Tribal Council, and they cast their votes, it was revealed that Operation: Italy indeed panned out. The underdog alliance split their votes, and as a result, Caroline got eliminated as Sam, Andy, and Genevieve voted her out.
Survivor 47 episode 12 aired on December 4, at 8 pm ET on CBS.
