Surface Season 2 is finally arriving on Apple TV+ after two years. The new season of the psychological thriller will return on February 20, 2025, in the U.S. at 6 PM ET. The season is slated to air eight episodes much like the previous season.
The official synopsis of the thriller reads,
"Haunted by her mother's mysterious murder, Sophie goes to London to uncover the truth."
Created by Veronica West, Surface is a psychological thriller that first aired on July 29, 2022. Since it was well received by the audience, it was renewed by Apple+ TV in December 2022. The series stars Gugu Mbatha Raw as Sophie Ellis a woman who is trying to rebuild her life after surviving a traumatic event that caused memory loss. Sophie's journey to uncover the truth is filled with twists as she deals with uncertainty.

Surface Season 2 will be based on Sophie's (Gugu Mbatha-Raw) journey to the city of London to discover secrets from her past. After a traumatic injury that left her with amnesia, she uses stolen resources to infiltrate the British elite society. The plot thickens when a journalist Callum (Gavin Drea) comes in contact with Sophie, revealing that they once worked together to expose a scandal.
After the first season, Sophie's return marks an important shift. After finally faking her death and leaving her former life behind, she is ready to unravel deeper mysteries. One of the important storylines of this series is Sophie's complex relationship with Eliza played by Millie Brady.
The season introduces new characters like Quinn (Phil Dunster), the eldest son of a wealthy family and heir to the Huntley estate, and Grace (Freida Pinto), his fiancee. Grace who believes she's found her true match slowly realizes the dark truths of her fiancee. The Quinn family is quite mysterious, while investigating her mother's death Sophie discovers that all women who have vanished were connected to the wealthy Quinn family. Sophie digs deep to unravel the secrets that the Quinns are hiding.
With Eliza (Millie Brady) and Sophie's estranged husband James (Oliver Jackson Cohen) returning for this season as well, Sophie's challenges increase as she continues to unravel secrets of her past.
