More about Superman & Lois Season 4 Episode 8 in our story.
Who does Tom Cavanagh play on Superman & Lois Season 4?
In this episode, fans were greeted by a familiar face from the Arrowverse: Tom Cavanagh. Having appeared in about 150 episodes of The Flash, he plays the role of a TV “journalist” Gordon Godfrey on the show.
Fans of the comic would recognize this character as a TV show host from the comics who had a personal vendetta against superheroes, whom he called the armed vigilantes of the Metropolis. He is also a part of Darkseid, the supervillain of Smallville in the comics.
With just two more episodes left in the finale, we don't think his true potential will be used in the show yet, but his introduction is important as he aligns with Lex's ambition in Superman & Lois.
Godfrey is a TV journalist who cares more about making money than the truth, even when it means manipulating the media. After he invites Lex to do a live show for his channel, the villain challenges Lois to a debate on live television.
While Lois is about to have the upper hand on the debate by bringing in Lex's daughter to corroborate her father's misdeeds, Milton hijacks Henry's armor suit and sabotages their debate.
Showrunner Brent Fletcher talked in an interview with TVLine about having Tom on board in the series and that his energy is very creative on set,
“[The character is] not like him at all, but he can play that guy perfectly.”
Director Michael Cudlitz also added,
“He’s a lot of fun, he has a lot of energy, he’s incredibly creative, and he’s not afraid to throw out everything he’s done and come up with something new. He’s also incredibly supportive, so I was grateful to have him on set. He’s a hoot.”
Lex Luthor prepares for his showdown with Clark Kent in Superman & Lois
The show's latest episode had Lex adorn his clean-shaven look, like in the comics, and this means that the end is near. The actor, Michael Cudlitz who also directed Episode 8 of the show, was very excited to present this modern-day Lex finally look to the audience.
After he steals Steel's battle armor, fans will finally get to see him in a version of the Lexosuit from the comics.
This is huge for the show, as even after multiple adaptations of the source material, this will be the first time Lex will battle Clark on live television. The finale of Superman & Lois is worth the wait.
