Ready for some classic, chaotic fun? Family Guy is coming back with new episodes and it’s dropping right in the middle of summer. FOX has announced the hit animated series will return on May 29 at 9 PM, and honestly, our Thursday nights just got a whole lot better.

If you’ve been a longtime fan, you probably associate Family Guy with chilled-out Sunday nights. But this year, FOX has made a slight change, and it’s all thanks to live sports.

With baseball and other major events taking over the Sunday lineup, Family Guy is temporarily moving to Thursday nights. But don’t worry, once the sports season chills out, the Griffins are expected to return to their old slot.

Let’s be real. Thursdays are a solid choice. By then, you’ve survived most of the workweek and are begging for a laugh. What better way to wind down than with Peter’s nonsense and Stewie’s dramatic schemes?

What to expect in the new episodes of Family Guy?

We all know what Family Guy brings to the table, absolutely absurd storylines mixed with oddly emotional moments and tons of pop culture digs.

Peter Griffin will likely continue to be, well… Peter. Expect wild job changes, dumb decisions, and a whole lot of immature behavior.

Lois may be the most “normal” in the family, but even she has her moments. Whether she’s getting caught up in Peter’s nonsense or dealing with her own outbursts, Lois always finds a way to keep the house somewhat in order… sort of.

Poor Meg. She’s been the butt of jokes for 23 seasons, and nothing’s changing anytime soon. But hey, we might get a few surprise moments where she finally stands up for herself… maybe.

Chris remains the lovable, slightly dim-witted teenager who tries his best, even if he doesn’t always understand what’s going on. His innocence adds an extra layer of goofiness to the show.

The real stars of the show? Stewie and Brian. The baby with an evil genius complex and the sarcastic, martini-drinking dog will undoubtedly get their own storylines filled with travel, mischief, and existential crises.

Family Guy has a signature brand of humor that hasn’t changed much over the years, and that’s exactly why we love it.

From old-school movies to TikTok trends, the show throws shade at everything. The new episodes will surely keep the references coming.

You know the ones , “This is just like that time I…” and BAM! A completely random (but hilarious) cutaway. Don’t expect those to slow down this season.

What makes Family Guy stand out this summer?

Summer TV usually means reruns and reality shows. But this year, Family Guy is bringing fresh content into the mix. That’s a win for comedy fans.

Let’s face it, the show has a huge fanbase that’s been riding with the Griffins for over two decades. New episodes premiering in summer feels like a reward.

Early teasers hint at some wild storylines, classic humor, and maybe even some surprises. Whether you’ve been watching since day one or just hopped on the train, these episodes promise something for everyone.

According to FOX, this Thursday night spot is temporary. Once the major sports leagues wrap up their seasons, animated comedies like Family Guy and The Simpsons are expected to return to their regular Sunday night lineups.

Sundays have long been the home for adult animated comedies, and that tradition likely isn’t going anywhere. So yes, Sunday nights will once again belong to the Griffins. Just not yet.

So, get your snacks ready and clear your Thursday night calendar, because Family Guy is back and ready to dominate your summer. With Peter’s stupidity, Stewie’s schemes, and Brian’s sarcasm, there’s no better way to spend a warm evening indoors. Whether you stream it or watch it live, one thing’s for sure: Quahog’s favorite family isn’t going anywhere.
