Suits LA fans are excited because Suits alum Rick Hoffman has been confirmed to appear in one episode of the ongoing NBC spin-off. He will be returning as the famous Louis Litt and while his appearance is now limited to a single episode, more of it can happen if Suits LA continues to run.
After Gabriel Macht’s featuring in three episodes of Suits LA was confirmed, fans could not hide their excitement about more faces from the original show returning. Hoffman is the second actor to do so and as mentioned by series creator Aaron Korsh, who was also the creative behind Suits, he
“wanted to make sure it was an organic bringing people in, not just a parade of old characters.” However, “I would love to have them all on, [but] I don’t want to have them all on one after the other because I think it harms the original and the new show to do that. So we’re just going to see how it goes.”
Hoffman’s return has significantly raised the anticipation among fans as they cannot wait to see Louis Litt bringing back his signature style to Suits LA.
Rick Hoffman will feature in one episode of Suits LA
As mentioned previously, one episode of the first and ongoing season of Suits LA would see Hoffman return as Louis Litt. In the original show, Suits, Louis’ character often served as a comic relief and behind his tough exterior, actually was a soft person.
Hoffman’s confirmation was returning to the show is not a surprise, because Korsh had previously mentioned to TV Line,
“Harvey is not the only Suits original character that we’re going to see this season. There will be at least one other original Suits character. I’m not going to say at what level.”
While not much has been revealed about how Hoffman will be featured in the show, Macht’s Harvey Spectre will be first seen in a flashback and then will arrive in the present timeline that Suits LA follows.
Regarding bringing back Harvey, Korsh mentioned,
“Ted was a prosecutor in New York at the time that Harvey was working in New York, so they, clearly, would’ve known each other. Now, they didn’t work in the same office. Ted was a U.S. Attorney, but Harvey was in the District Attorney’s office. So what I came up with was they both played in this prosecutors’ league baseball team.”
How words show how the two characters can organically and logically meet in Suits LA, and it would be interesting to see where the story goes from there.
