In the premiere episode of Suits LA, Episode 1 titled Seven Days A Week and Twice on Sunday viewers are introduced to Ted Black played by Stephen Amell.
Stephen Amell who plays Ted Black a former New York prosecutor turned West Coast entertainment lawyer is haunted by the memories of his autistic brother Eddie. Throughout the episode, it feels like Eddie (Carson A. Eagan) is alive and present in Teddie's life but a shocking revelation at the end states that Eddie is dead. The synopsis of the show as per IMDB reads,
"Follows a new group led by Ted Black, a former New York prosecutor who built an L.A law firm that specializes in criminal and entertainment law."
Created by Aaron Korsch, Suits LA, the second spin-off of Suits debuted on February 23, 2025. Initially, Ted is depicted as best in his field but he has a mysterious past as well. Through a series of setbacks, we learn that Ted once worked as a New York prosecutor however he was betrayed by the co-founder Stuart Lane who joins Ted's ex-girlfriend to form a new firm.
Is Ted Black's brother Eddie dead in Suits LA?
Throughout the first episode, it seemed as if Eddie was very much alive. Ted Black after his tiring day at work returned home to his brother Eddie. Their interactions are proof that however tough Ted might be during his cases he is kind and gentle to his autistic brother Eddie.
As the episode progresses we find out the reason why Ted left New York due to his tiff with a crime boss who killed a major key witness. Even though Ted did not share a good bond with his father he anchored on this situation to come back to his son.
In the present timeline, Ted goes to see his father who is in a coma. Ted blames his father for Eddie's death the night before his conviction for an undisclosed case. It is here when the viewers realize that Eddie is dead and Ted is just hallucinating his brother.
Eddie's death in Suits LA is revealed to be tied to a tragic incident that occurred when Ted was working as a prosecutor in New York. Even though the exact reason for his death is not revealed the location is determined through Eddie's grey t-shirt of the New York Yankees.
Ted blames his father for Eddie's death suggesting this might be a result of the family's involvement with notorious criminals possibly linked to Ted's work. At the end of the episode, we see Ted hallucinates his dead brother as he urges Eddie to stay a little longer. However, Eddie's death has left Ted in complex grief and guilt and that may be the reason that he keeps on hallucinating Eddie.
