Peacock's hit legal drama Suits finally kicked off its spin-off series, Suits LA, with an intense pilot episode, which introduces many problems for its protagonist, Ted Black.

Ted, while reeling from a personal loss, has to deal with his partner Stuart and mentee Rick's betrayal, who left him out of a merger and poached his clients. The upcoming episodes will see him reeling with this loss as he will try to build with whatever company he is left with.

Suits LA Episode 2 will air on NBC on March 2, 2025.

Suits LA Episode 2, titled 'Old Man Hanharan,' will air on NBC on March 2, 2025, at 9 PM ET/6PM PT. The episode will also be available to stream on Peacock, NBC's official streaming partner. The spin-off series will air weekly episodes every Sunday.

The official synopsis for episode 2 reads as follows:

"Ted needs Amanda's help with a new prosecutor in Lester's murder trial; Erica squares off against Rick to stop him from poaching a client; Stuart and Samantha argue over Rick's position in the firm; in the past, Ted improvises after losing a witness."

As the pilot established many plot points, episode 2 will continue expanding Ted's past storyline and why he had to flee to Los Angeles all those years ago. The pilot showed some glimpses, but the whole story will continue in the upcoming episodes.

As for the present storyline, Ted will face the consequences of Stuart and Rick's betrayal as he tries to sustain his remaining clients. Now that Rick has shifted over to Stuart, it will be interesting to see whether he will get his desired position at his new law firm.

Episode 2 also hints that Erica and Rick's rivalry is not going away anytime soon and they will continue to fight over clients.

What happened in the Suits LA pilot episode?

In the Suits LA pilot, we meet the protagonist, Ted Black, who is suffering both in his personal and professional life. After leaving New York to live in Los Angeles 15 years ago, he is running his firm with his close friend and partner Stuart Lane.

We learn that Ted is distracted from his company, which is between a merger, because his father is dying. The pilot reveals that while Ted was distracted, Stuart cut him out of the merger and took most of his clients.

Not only did he take most of Ted’s clients and cut him out of the merger, but he also convinced Rick to leave Ted’s firm and join him. While Erica and Rick are in constant competition at Ted's firm, he makes them co-leads, which upsets Rick, who wants the title to himself.

Despite being Ted’s mentee, Rick also betrays him and follows Stuart to Railsback Lane, where Stuart has taken a position. With Rick gone, Erica secures her position at Ted’s firm without competition.

Throughout the Suits LA pilot, Ted is shown having conversations with his brother Eddie at his mansion, but when he reluctantly visits his father on his deathbed, his father blames him for Eddie’s death—confirming to the audience that Eddie is no longer alive.
