Attention Suits fans! Creator Aaron Korsh is back with a spin-off called Suits L.A. Although there will be a new set of characters and cast members, Korsh has decided to return one character from the original series. Harvey Specter, a recurring character of the original Suits played by Gabriel Macht, will be a part of Suits L.A.

Gabriel Macht will be filming for three episodes of Suits L.A. per his interview with People Magazine. Even though it is not official whether it is a cameo or Macht's character Harvey is here to stay.

Korsh opened up and explained the reason behind Harvey returning to Suits L.A. In an X post, he stated,

"The network very much wanted original member. If you watch, you'll see that from a story standpoint Harvey made the most sense. I originally wrote this as its own thing not a Suits spin-off so I'm not sure what that says about how I look at either one."

However, the setting of the show remains the same, featuring Stephen Amell as the entertainment lawyer Ted Black. Set in Los Angeles, the story starts from the angle that Ted's firm has reached a crisis position. Office romances paired with a knack for power among the lawyers would be explored in Suits L.A. The viewers will also get to see some original cast members Bryan Greenberg, Lex Scott Davis, and Josh McDermitt.

The last episode of Suits featured Harvey and Donna Paulsen getting married, after which they told Louis of their decision to leave the firm and move to Seattle to join Ross and his wife in Seattle. It would be interesting to witness how Harvey Specter would be cast in Suits L.A after all these years of him living in Seattle.

Apart from that, who can forget the emotional scene between Mike and Harvey (almost like when they first met during the job interview)? In the finale episode, Harvey joins Mike's legal team, reversing their original dynamic as Mike is the boss now. It would also be interesting to see the changed dynamics between these two attorneys in Suits L.A.

What did Gabriel Macht say about returning as Harvey Specter in Suits L.A.?

Gabriel Macht, who portrayed Harry Specter, the audacious and urban legal counsel, is all set to reprise his role in the spin-off as a three-episode arc. Macht took a break from acting after the end of the nine seasons of Suits. He moved to the U.K. with his family. He came into the spotlight during the cast reunion at the Golden Globes after the huge success of Suits on Netflix.

On November 20, 2024, Macht teased his return to the NBC series in a short video. He was seen donning his Harvey suit and shoes with the Suits theme song in the background. The caption stated,

"When an old friend is in need...it's time to take care of things and make those very things right."

In an interview with People Magazine, when Macht was asked about reprising his role as Harvey Specter after five years, he said,

"I'm just doing it for the fans. I'm not doing it for me. I've done it 134 times. I'm not doing it for me."

The 53-year-old actor continued,

"I had very little interest in coming back to work as an actor right now because I spent so much time doing it and this was my time to really raise my kids and to do creative stuff like Bear Fight."

However, Macht finally decided to take on the mantle of Harvey Specter once again. Macht also mentioned how Aaron pitched him the role. He said,

"Aaron called me and just said, 'Look, this is a different world. This is in L.A, It's not New York, but (Ted) came out of New York. And (Harvey) would've known him when you were in New York."

Macht continued that Aaron wanted him back on the show and he continued,

"And if there's any world where you might be interested in coming back, let me know, because I have this idea that could be really great."
