NBC’s much-awaited show Suits: L.A. has given fans their first glimpse of Gabriel Macht returning as Harvey Specter. Macht, who starred in the original Suits for nine seasons, comes back for a short three-episode appearance to play the charming lawyer once again.

A new 30-second teaser shows Harvey’s strong bond with the show’s main character, Ted Black (played by Stephen Amell), now a successful lawyer in Los Angeles, who has to deal with a big problem that could harm his law firm. Ted calls Harvey the only person “cockier” than himself. The trailer also includes a sentimental framed photo of the characters from their younger days in New York.

Macht posted on Instagram, saying:

“When an old friend is in need… it’s time to take care of things and make those very ‘things’ right.”

Suits: L.A., will start on February 23, 2025, on NBC, and it’s being led by Aaron Korsh, who created the original series. With Macht’s return creating a lot of buzz, fans can look forward to the moments that made Suits popular worldwide.

What's known about Harvey Specter’s role in Suits: L.A.

Gabriel Macht is back as Harvey Specter on Suits, and fans are excited. Not much is known yet, but the spinoff’s summary suggests Harvey will help his old friend Ted Black during a crucial time. Ted, who used to be a federal prosecutor in New York like Harvey, now runs a struggling law firm in Los Angeles. NBC says their past together will make the story more interesting, as Harvey’s skills and charm meet the problems Ted is dealing with.

The Suits: L.A. teaser shows a strong connection between them, with Ted recognizing Harvey’s impact:

“That’s exactly why I liked him.”

Fans can look forward to seeing Macht’s sharp humor, confidence, and occasional emotions. The show plans to respect Harvey’s story while connecting it with Ted’s journey, linking the legal scenes of New York and Los Angeles.

Suits: L.A. also makes people wonder if other original cast members might appear. Patrick J. Adams, who played Mike Ross, has said he’s open to coming back if the storyline fits, stating:

“If it makes sense and is worth telling, I’m always available.”

The release of Suits: L.A. happens as the original show is becoming popular again, especially after it started streaming on Netflix and Peacock in 2023. The new wave of viewers led NBC to approve the spinoff, with Aaron Korsh coming back as the main creator. Stephen Amell’s character, Ted Black, brings a new spark to the series, with a story that is similar to Harvey’s path in the original show.

The series continues with personal and work-related problems, just as the original. Ted’s law firm is said to be in a tough spot, which creates the perfect setting for legal battles and stories that focus on the characters.

As NBC describes it, this will be the main focus of the show:

“The unraveling events that led Ted to leave everything behind.”

Suits: L.A. promises many layers, so new fans and those who love the show could look forward to something exciting.

Harvey’s return connects characters from different times in the Suits world. It also looks into ideas like staying loyal, making up for past mistakes, and leaving a lasting impact. With Macht back, fans can look forward to the same clever conversations and choices that made the original show special.

Don’t miss the first episode of Suits: L.A. on February 23, 2025, at 9/8c on NBC.

You can also watch the episode the next day on Peacock.
