Stranger Things Season 5 might have an Eleven and Max fight 

Stranger Things Season 5 has a massive cliffhanger and a lot of questions from the previous season to welcome it. The end of Season 4 left behind more questions than answers, which will have to be addressed in the final season. Netflix's concluding installment is among the most anticipated shows of 2025. The show has a lot of loose ends to tie up, and it's still not clear who is going to make it out of this final chapter alive.

The Season 4 ending witnessed Max (played by Sadie Sink) going into a coma after her encounter with Vecna (played by Jamie Campbell Bower). The Hawkins gang tried their best but were unable to stop Vecna, who mysteriously vanished. Additionally, Vecna's plan to open gates between the human world and the Upside Down causes the Upside Down to bleed into the crew's reality. Stranger Things Season 5 has to address all of these mysteries and give closure to its main characters' stories.

Stranger Things Season 5 is set to feature Eleven (played by Millie Bobby Brown) and Vecna's final battle, but according to this theory, Eleven might have to fight one of her closest friends.

Stranger Things Season 5 Theory Regarding Max and Eleven's Fight

The anticipation behind Stranger Things Season 5 has led to fans coming up with their own theories regarding what might happen in the upcoming season. A Redditor came up with the theory that Vecna, who was mysteriously missing after the Season 4 finale fight, might be hiding inside Max's mind. After Steve, Robin, and Nancy attack Vecna in the finale, they find him missing from the spot where he had fallen.

The next scene cuts to days later when Eleven and the gang visit Max in the hospital, and Eleven tries to reach Max in her mind but is unable to find her. Someone on Reddit came up with a theory about Stranger Things Season 5 that might explain both Max and Vecna's disappearance. The Redditor said that

"Vecna is hiding inside of Max's mind until he recovers which is why Max is in a coma and Eleven can't find her...he's hiding."

According to this theory about Stranger Things Season 5, Vecna might be hiding inside Max's mind so that he can recover and gain back his strength. This theory would tie up many loose strings, as it would help make sense of why Eleven was unable to reach Max when she visited her in the hospital. The theory would also explain why Vecna was suddenly missing after the Hawkins gang attacked him.

If this theory comes true, Vecna might use Max's body to weaken Eleven's chance of beating him. Eleven would have a lot of difficulty fighting Max if this theory comes true. The fact that it's her best friend's body that she might be fighting in Stranger Things Season 5 would make it so much more difficult to defeat Vecna.

Another person on Reddit was quick to assess what would happen if this theory were to come true, and that is exactly how we feel about this theory. Here's what they said:

"Woohoo this one gave me goosebumps!! In the last boss fight, if Vecna takes over MAX... It will be harder for EL to fight him!! She can fight 001! Her enemy !! But not Max her best friend this will make EL weak!!"

This is, of course, just a theory, and only time or the Stranger Things creators will tell if the theory comes true.
