Shark Tank investor Kevin O'Leary recently opened up about his views on the future of the Canadian economy and its growth.

As the country is headed towards elections for their new Prime Minister, Kevin had a clear message for whoever wins this time: to strengthen economic ties with the United States. He wants the government to eliminate tariffs between the two nations in a way that could mutually benefit them.

Speaking about his views to BBC News, Kevin says that the next Prime Minister must act fast in favor of a bold strategy that would create ehat he describes as a "behemoth" economy. He calls to leverage the abundant resources that Canada has at its fingertips and the massive consumer market with the United States.

"They immediately fly to Washington and start the negotiations to eliminate all tariffs between the two countries," O’Leary stated.

According to the Shark Tank investor, this move is not about surrendering the "sovereignty" of Canada. Rather, it is about creating an economic potential that will grow the country. He says,

"The real opportunity is to combine the two countries, not sell the country to America, but to get free trade going in both directions, North and South, and East and Western Canada, where there are a lot of barriers between provinces, and create something of a behemoth economy."

Kevin O'Leary, the Shark Tank investor, advocates that the natural strengths of both nations could be utilized with this plan. As for Canada, it has huge reserves of precious minerals, energy, and resources, while the United States has a huge consumption market.

Beyond the economic argument and his opinions, the Shark Tank investor also shed light on the political environment and criticized the government in handling domestic challenges, which has resulted in the worst for Canadian citizens.

By throwing shade at the liberal party, Kevin O'Leary says that they are trying to distract Canadians by channeling their anger towards the US. Kevin says,

"And right now, as you're well aware of where you stand, the Canadians are very frustrated with Americans, and Carney's used it to his advantage, and I commend him for what he has done."

He added,

"You have to hand it to him. He was able to distract Canadians away from his own mistakes, the blood on his hands in poverty in Canada, and say, 'Stop looking at that, look south of the border, I can save you.' And he might just pull it off, and we'll know later this evening."

As the country waits for the results of the elections, Kevin's remarks serve as a hopeful direction for a path that the new government could take as soon as they are in office.

Shark Tank season 16 episodes release weekly on ABC at 8 PM Eastern Time on Fridays. They are later available to watch on Hulu.
