Disney+'s Star Wars: Skeleton Crew delivered a power-packed finale, with a last showdown between Jod Na Nawood and the children of At Attin.
As seen in the penultimate episode, Jod got the upper hand on the kids and their parents as he entered the planet by disguising himself as a Republic Emissary.
The finale saw him taking complete charge over the planet as he successfully shut the power of the whole planet and entered his pirate frigate through the Barrier.
The Star Wars: Skeleton Crew finale also sheds light on Jod's origin story, hinting at possibilities for season 2, which has not yet been greenlit. Who won the final fight?
Here is everything that happened in Star Wars: Skeleton Crew finale.
Jod successfully shuts off At Attin's power in Star Wars: Skeleton Crew Season 1 Episode 8
In Star Wars: Skeleton Crew, while Wendle takes his son Wim for a treat to a homecooked meal, Jod, Fern, and Fara take a trip to the Supervisor's office. They see everything is helter-skelter there, and the place is abandoned. They finally see the Supervisor, who is revealed to be a large droid, who was controlling At Attin all along.
Jod introduces himself as a Republic Emissary and a Jedi to the Supervisor and asks him to give access to his other ship through the barrier. But much to his surprise, the supervisor sees through his lie, and when he is about to order the droids to apprehend Jod, he ignites his lightsaber and stabs in his orbital socket. This destroys the droid, and At Attin loses all its power.
Fara volunteers to get Gunter's ship through the barrier and Jod sends message to his other ship to get ready for their attack on At Attin.
Wim - the unsung hero of Star Wars: Skeleton Crew Season 1 Episode 8
Jod's frigate begins firing on At Attin, and the group cannot do anything with the power lost. Wim and KB finally get to the Onyx Cinder, but with the power gone, its docking clamps are not working, which is keeping the ship grounded. But Wendell knows how to reroute power to get the Onyx working.
Jod catches Fern and Fara, who are planning a potential attack on them, and sends a message across At Attin that he will spare anybody who will cooperate with him.
Wim emerges as the unsung hero of Star Wars: Skeleton Crew as he successfully distracts Jod while Wendell powers the Cinder. Wim claims that he has sent a message across to the B-Wings and they are coming for Jod's pirate ship.
While Jod doesn't believe this because of the Barrier, Fern adds to Wim's ruse saying that he found a magical crystal ball and is working with the Jedi.
While Jod tries to piece together the truth behind Wim's story, Wendle powers the Cynder, who has KB aboard, and he successfully sends At Attin's coordinates to Kh'ymm and the New Republic for help.
Star Wars: Skeleton Crew finale reveals Jod's origin story
While Jod is a villain in the show, he is visibly concerned for the kids when KB is in danger, and it looks like Cinder crashed with him in the finale. This hints that Jod is a morally grey character, and his origin story is finally revealed.
Jod reveals that his aim throughout childhood was not to die because of starvation, and he had always been a hungry child when a Jedi woman found him. She promised that he was special and offered to train him to become one of the Jedis.
But soon, she was hunted down, and Jod was forced to see her die with his own eyes, having again nobody in the world. This made him an angry man who wanted to seize any opportunity to steal and get enough so that he would never have to starve.
While Jod's story is sad, it does not change the fact that the children and the planet are still under his control. After his rant about his childhood, Wendle ambushes Jod, and Wim successfully takes over his lightsaber, rendering him powerless.
In between this chaos, Wendle and Fara get the best of Jod, and the Barrier is lowered, and The New Republic is able to enter and launch their attack on Jod's pirate ships. The finale ends with Jod seeing his dreams of fortune getting up in flames as he sees his frigate burning.
