Star Wars: Skeleton Crew episode 6, "Zero Friends Again," was an exciting entry in the series, released on the last day of 2024. Directed by Bryce Dallas Howard, the episode mostly revolves around the four kids trying to reach their ship, the Onyx Cinder. Meanwhile, "Jod/Dash Zentin/Silvo/Crimson Jack" is held captive by Brutus and his crew.

While the kids are away from the danger of "Jod," they still are stranded on a snow planet. Under these difficult circumstances, the group also splits up because of a fallout. Here's what the synopsis of this Star Wars: Skeleton Crew episode reads:

"Relationships fray under the pressures of a difficult journey."

This post contains spoilers for Star Wars: Skeleton Crew Episode 6.

The trail of "Jod/Silvo"

"Jod/Zentin/Silvo" climbs out of Tak Rennod's liar at the entrance of the spa, and he is greeted by Brutus' crew. Bounty hunter Pokkit is happy to see, and she is probably paid by Brutus. Inside Brutus' ship, "Silvo/Jod" convinces them to stay at his execution as he informs them that he knows the location of At Attin. However, "Silvo/Jod" is threatened with a horrifying death if he betrays them.

The kids split up in this Star Wars: Skeleton Crew episode

The episode begins right after Wim activates the booby trap in Rennod's lair back in Star Wars: Skeleton Crew Episode 5 - "You Have a Lot to Learn About Pirates." The four kids slide down the pipes and are ejected on the snowy surface right at the bottom of the mountain where the spa is located. While Fern suggests climbing the mountain, Wim suggests finding an easier alternative.

That's when trash crabs come out, and Wim thinks these creatures will show them an easier route, while Fern disagrees and suggests climbing the mountain. This is where we see a fallout between Fern and KB, as the latter feels that the former doesn't get her limitations caused by her cybernetics. Because of this fallout, KB opts to go with Wim, and Fern chooses Neel.

Fern helps Neel in this Star Wars: Skeleton Crew episode

Neel finds it difficult to climb upwards, and that's when Fern finds a rope. She ties the rope on her and Neel's waists, making it easy for him to climb the ladder. However, Neel sees that their ship is being taken to the trash, and both of them jump on top of the ship. Meanwhile, even Wim and KB have their own set of problems while following the crabs.

Wim helps KB

Her implant starts malfunctioning because of corrosion, making it impossible for her to move. She instructs Wim to use the droid servos from the trash heap nearby to create an important electric component for her implant. Wim successfully replaces the part, and she is on her feet again. Then, they both follow the crab, where something is revealed to them.

It is revealed that the trash crabs were leading them towards a giant crab that would dine on KB and Wim. At that very moment, Fern and Neel arrive at the top of the Cinder and save them both from becoming food for the crabs. KB and Fern resolve their differences, and they become best friends. However, before this episode of Star Wars: Skeleton Crew is done, the kids have another problem at hand.

The trash compactor is on its way!

Star Wars: Skeleton Crew Episode 6 has another shutout to A New Hope, our heroes being in danger of being crushed by a trash compactor. The kids realize that the ship was thrown in the trash and was also about to be destroyed by the trash compactor. However, the kids are getting a hand in piloting the ship by observing SM-33 and "Jod," making the two "adults" redundant.

Wim tries to target the trash compactor with the weapon system, Neel and Fern take charge of the cockpit, and KB knows how to manage the engine room. However, despite their best attempts it looks like the Onyx Cinder might be crushed under the trash compactor. However, Fern in the last ditch attempt presses the Emergency Hull Demolition button.

This turns out to be a prudent move as the ship rids itself off its hull and flies away from the compactor's range to return home. With just two episodes left, it remains to be seen if the kids beat Brutus' crew and alert the authorities at At Attin about the pirates. Or if they're late and land on the planet as the pirate invasion is underway.
