One of the biggest hits on Paramount+ Special Ops: Lioness Season 2 finally came to an end as the team faced the most dangerous yet crucial mission so far. The American spy thriller TV series was released last year and returned for its second season the very next year.

Special Ops: Lioness Season 2 kicked off with Joe (played by Zoe Saldaña) the leader of the Lioness program torn between her duties. While she's navigating the challenges in her professional life, Joe also has to deal with her strained family relationships.

However, the CIA's fight against terrorism remains the central part of the TV series. Season 2 also brought a new character Josephine "Josie" Carillo (played by Genesis Rodriguez) a helicopter pilot and soldier who is trained to be a ground fighter.

Throughout the episodes of Special Ops: Lioness Season 2, the special operatives gave it all to accomplish the mission, and in the finale, they risked their lives to carry out Operation Sky Hawk. While the team makes it out alive, some of them get wounded.

While the main focus remains on the high-stakes Iranian mission, the Carrillo family cartel storyline also receives a conclusion in the Special Ops: Lioness Season 2 finale. In Costa Rica, Byron (Michael Kelly) and Kaitlyn (Nicole Kidman) persuade Pablo Carrillo (Damian Castro) to betray his brother Alvaro, as he is suspected of helping the Chinese.

Kaitlyn and Byron manage to convince Pablo to work with them by offering him a deal to take control of Alvaro's business. Soon after Pablo agrees, he sets up a meeting with his brother, and the three head toward Alvaro's well-guarded compound. Despite high security, they manage to get inside, and Byron secretly hands over a pistol to Pablo.

The subplot ends with Pablo executing his brother Alvaro with a single gunshot that directly hit his head and ending the cartel's influence. On the jet back, Byron reacts to the brutal killing and claims that only a little will change after all these efforts.

The primary mission of Operation Sky Hawk in the Special Ops: Lioness Season 2 finale features high-octane action. Josie and Cruz, the door gunner are set to attack a Turkish convoy from a helicopter, while Taylor Sheridan's Cody and another sniper cover the ground.

As the action begins, Josie successfully makes two attacks on the convoy but her helicopter is hit by enemies. The enemy attack caused Josie's helicopter to crash and even left her with a broken leg as she's seen enduring immense pain in the finale episode of Special Ops: Lioness Season 2.

Meanwhile, Sheridan's Cody emerged as an exceptional sniper. His presence brought a classic hero fashion as Cody didn't just eliminate dozens of Iranian soldiers but also destroyed one of their tanks.

Soon after the helicopter crash, Joe and the QRF (Quick Reaction Force) rush to the crash site. There, they join the Codys and begin exchanging gunfire to face off the Iranian forces. Since Josie is badly hurt, she receives help from Cruz and is moved to the higher ground.

The team, outnumbered and outgunned hid behind the boulders to fight back. The air support and backup team is a little far away, so Joe and the QRF team give it all to take down the enemies. However, they keep on increasing and the ORF starts getting hit.

The fight for survival begins and Tucker is shot in the leg, with Bobby grazed by a ricochet on her face. As the action reaches its maximum in the Special Ops: Lioness Season 2 finale, Tex is also shot in the abdomen with Two Cups also wounded.

As the situation becomes dire for the team, Joe ensures Josie has a pistol and tells her to use it to prevent anyone from being taken alive. When Josie almost starts feeling hopeless and screams out of pain, Joe whispers a message to her family, suggesting that it might be the end.

Thankfully, the Close Air Support (CAS) arrives on time and saves the CIA operative through missiles and gunfire at the enemies, quickly neutralizing the threat. The team is then regrouped at the anger where they are treated for the gunshot wounds and Josie's broken leg. The entire team makes it out alive, and Joe and Cruz discuss the horrors they faced in Special Ops: Lioness Season 2.

Since her last conversation with her husband didn't go well, Joe was skeptical about how she might be welcomed by her family. With an exhausted face, Joe entered her house, Neal warmly welcoming her and ensured "Joe, you always have one to come home to" when she expressed being concerned about their relationship dynamics.
