South Park: The Streaming Wars commences with protagonists Stan Marsh and Tolkien Black’s fathers: Randy and Steve, concocting an idea to generate more profit from their cannabis farm if they’d sell residual water like their competitor Pi Pi. After seeing a golden opportunity the duo decide to let their sons Stan and Tolkien in on their plan to get rich quickly.
With the residual water turning into streams, the dads cook up the idea to prove their stream’s viability to the public. This leads Stan and Tolkein to reluctantly and unwillingly build boats and work for “streaming services.”
Naturally, the two complained about the tumultuous workload, the absurd commercialization of water to generate profit, and more. Despite Stan and Tolkein’s burn-out amid the tiresome war, there was something bigger. The climax of the television special unraveled a major plot twist.
At the meeting organized by Tolkein's dad, Pi Pi confessed that he’s already an owner of the Credigree Weed farm owned by Steve. To top it off, he’s also been colluding with the ManBearPig — the town’s water commissioner.
ManBearPig ends up being the ultimate villain after he unveils the truth about the town’s water supply: it’s all dried up! Furthermore, he not only blindsides Tolkein's dad by potentially killing him, but also had ulterior motives for collaborating with Pi Pi.
South Park: The Streaming Wars is the series’ third installment of a television special, produced by Paramount + and is episode 318 of Season 25.
What streaming service has South Park: Streaming Wars?
South Park: Streaming Wars can be streamed on Paramount +, Hulu, and Max. You can also log onto the official South Park Studios website to binge the previous seasons and the newest ones. South Park recently concluded Season 26 earlier this year on May 24, 2024.
Per a report by People, Season 27 will not air “on purpose” until after the election season, sometime in 2025. The show has already been renewed for 30 seasons per ScreenRant.
Is there a part two to South Park: Streaming Wars?
Yes indeed! The Streaming Wars is a two-part television special that comprises episodes 318 and 319. Part 1 of the special ended on the one of several cliffhangers: Is Tolkein’s dad alive? What other sinister plan did ManBearPig have for the town?
In Part 2, Pi Pi and ManBearPig successfully manipulate their town to waste their water resulting in a drought. Their nefarious plan has caused a domino effect in the entire town of South Park. Tensions run high with betrayals, legal altercations, loots and more.
Amid this ruckus, Pi Pi suggests his plan of running a water park entirely on pee in Denver, Colorado. With his rather sustainable measure, several influential personalities begin promoting it.
Naturally, Randy’s business collapses causing him to shut shop and pursue geology to tackle the ongoing drought. Just before Denver could make the deal with Pi Pi official, Randy waltzes in with a solution to instead install a desalination unit - a more viable option, thwarting Pi Pi and ManBearPig’s plans.
Things began taking a turn after the ordeal turns into Steve and the gang fighting a life-or-death scenario. Eventually, the desalination plant ends up getting built with Climate Change in mind. The special ended with the entire gang back at Randy’s smoking pot. A happy ending.
South Park will soon return in 2025. Until then, you can binge the series on Paramount +, Hulu, and Max!
