The upcoming 2024 action adventure comedy, Sonic the Hedgehog 3, is set to release on December 20, 2024. In the film, Sonic, Knuckles, and Tails reunite to battle the most powerful and mysterious new enemy Shadow. They further seek an unlikely alliance to stop shadow and save the world.
The film comes with a brilliant cast including the famed actor Jim Carrey. In an exclusive interview with Entertainment Tonight, the cast of Sonic the Hedgehog 3 revealed their favorite Jim Carrey films.

Keanu Reeves who is the voice for Shadow is a fan of Carrey's film, Batman Forever. In the film, Carrey plays the character Riddler, a flamboyant and highly intelligent antagonist with a theatrical personality. Jim Carrey brings in his signature manic energy that adds to the character.
Idris Elba. who is voicing Knuckles in Sonic the Hedgehog 3 reveals that he liked Jim Carrey's film, How the Grinch Stole Christmas, is the best. In the film, Carrey plays the character Grinch, who is witty, mischievous, and has emotional depth. Though he starts as an antagonist, Grinch transforms after realizing the true meaning behind Christmas.

In the 2024 film Sonic the Hedgehog 3, Jim Carrey has a dual role. He is playing Ivo Robotnik and Gerald Robotnik who are often seen together on screen. Speaking about his experience of playing two characters he said that it was technically very difficult as he had to delineate the characters.
"Playing both the roles is very difficult, technically speaking, you have to delineate the characters. I don't want them to seem like just me with some makeup on.
He further added that he had a British actor, Brenden Murphy, with him to practice with:
"When I am Gerald he is Robotnik, and when I am Robotnik he is Gerald, and I'd have to tell him that okay this is I what think I might do tomorrow and he tried to do that for me..... and this is what I think I did yesterday ....so I mean its really difficult there is a lot to it technically. "
Previously, Carry made a joke that he was back in this film after announcing his retirement because he needed the money. In the interview, he added how sonic films are the primary films he has done and that the people he works with have become a family.
"Whenever I am between films I think that's enough of that or I have other considerations but with them, I look at the group, the people I am working with and I realise it's a cool family. "
He further appreciated his co-actors of the film.
"Keanu's vibe on set is really lovely. We like people who have come from cartoon. They have a sensibility that is really lovely."
