The Simpsons is the animated sitcom that has been making us laugh since 1989, and it’s hard to believe that a family of yellow-skinned misfits could become such a cultural phenomenon.

In a way, it is the longest-running family therapy session in history where each character brings a unique flavor to the show. From predicting major world events to shaping modern satire, The Simpsons has been the flagbearer for modern slapstick comedy since its inception.

Fans react hilariously as Disney+ launches 24/7 stream that plays all 767 The Simpsons episodes in order

Disney+ recently announced the decision to launch a streaming service that would work round the clock and play all The Simpsons episodes in chronological order. Just when you thought you’d seen every episode...Disney+ drops the ultimate binge challenge! As if the fans needed an excuse to tune in to watch Homer and family!

The fans were in a jolly mood, with fans in unison about trying to come up with ways to ditch work, while some even contemplated retirement. The news was well-received by the fans and they shared their views and opinions on X, as they contemplated ways to make the ultimate dream possible: watching 'The Simpsons' marathon in one go!

"Somewhere, a fan is about to lose weeks of their life," joked one fan (via X / @The_Epic_Scenes)

That fan is probably going to be us! We just need to come up with a good enough excuse to ditch work for 15 days straight now. On another note, this guy from Family Guy is probably about to have the best time of his life now!

While some fans were busy trying to figure out the exact time at which to call in sick, one fan (@dontcallmeraylo) was doing God's work as he made full use of his analytical bent:

"For those curious, it will take the stream roughly 282 hours to cycle through all of the episodes, which is about 12 days. So if you strategize properly, you'd only have to take 8 days off work to get this done," enlightened the fan.

While some fans were celebrating the launch of the stream that lets them watch their favorite characters, others had a few demands of their own, which they duly let the world know:

"Yeah but you know what would be really cool? A RANDOM episode button!!!!! Fx now had it for Simpsons and I just don’t wanna have to decide what episode to play…. Random!!!" insisted the fan (via X / @waffyworld)

We can certainly understand his frustrations. Either he is one extremely lazy guy who doesn't like to get up the couch or it's because The Simpsons has so many great episodes that he gets spoiled for choices and isn't able to decide which one he wants to see next!

Homer Simpson is arguably the MVP of the franchise, as he regularly saves Springfield from disaster using a combination of ignorance and blind luck. The show has enough absurd plots to fill a reservoir, because nothing says “safety” like a guy who can’t even find his way out of a donut shop without help. His iconic "D'oh!" has a separate fanbase of its own, even as Homer commits his latest gaffe.

"Ultimate nostalgia trip! I’m already imagining tuning in at 3 a.m. to catch Homer’s classic ‘D’oh ahhaha," exclaimed one excited fan (via X / @goonerrr_)

Others joined in the fun, with one fan (@sluglifeInk) pointing out how much dogs seem to love The Simpsons. They might even adore the show more than humans and are unusually submissive when they are watching the show, perhaps in hopes that Homer might finally share his donut with them for once:

"Ultimate background noise for my dog," quipped the fan.

The Simpsons is a comedic goldmine and never fails to make us laugh even in times of distress. Whether we are marveling at the show's creators when another one of their predictions comes true, or wondering how Homer still has a job or when Bart will actually enter the fifth grade, the show has been an ever-present in all of our years growing up and continues to be a masterclass in absurdity.

The news of the stream comes like music to the ears of longtime fans and continues to remind us that no matter how dysfunctional your family may be, there’s always room for laughter!
