Somebody Somewhere is back with yet another exciting season. The popular HBO comedy-drama revolves around Sam, played by Bridget Everett, who settles in a small Kansas town after her sister’s death while dealing with a midlife crisis.

The show's third season premiered on October 27, 2024, and is set to release the next two episodes on November 3, 2024, and November 10, 2024, respectively. Sam has now become a part of the town's close-knit community, which she considers her family.

However, she is still a little confused about the future while juggling her two jobs, working with her sister Tricia on her pillow business and bartending at the local bar. Somebody Somewhere Season 3 marks the final installment of the heartwarming series, which will conclude Sam’s storyline.

In the first episode, Sam felt uncertain and left behind. While she had always been hesitant about opening up, the episode showed how everyone in her life was moving forward while she felt stuck.

Her sister, Tricia, was newly divorced and trying to adjust to life on her own. Though a bit nervous, she put herself out there, dating and trying new things. When Tricia canceled their planned hangout to go on a date, Sam realized her sister was moving on faster than she had expected.

Even her friends were moving forward. Joel decided to move in with his boyfriend, Brad, which made Sam feel like an outsider. Sam’s feeling of being left out deepened when she found a dog named Pepper at a pet adoption center.

She immediately fell in love with the dog but hesitated to adopt her, worried about the commitment. By the time she finally returned to adopt Pepper, the dog had already been taken. Heartbroken, Sam told herself that Pepper was better off somewhere else.

Despite her fears, Sam got a small taste of the good that could come from taking risks. Her sister asked her to pick up rent from the man renting their family’s old house. This man, nicknamed ‘Iceland,’ was quiet and scruffy but caught her interest.

Sam, in her own awkward way, tried to start a conversation by asking if the northern lights were 'really a thing.' Though it was a small moment, it hinted that Sam might be ready to try something new.

The new season marks the final installment of the series, as HBO canceled the show in August 2024. Fans were left disappointed with the move, as the show had received widespread critical acclaim and earned a Peabody Award. Reflecting on the cancelation, Bridget Everett told Time magazine:

“With this kind of show, you feel like every season is going to be your last, honestly. The way we wanted to approach the season was: it's a snapshot, a moment in time—not wrap anything up. We just like to live with the characters.”
