NBC's Suits LA, Episode 6, finally saw Ted Black winning against Elizabeth Smith in Lester's case, even after the manipulative prosecutor threw many curveballs in his way.

While Suits LA manages many small cases of the week, movie producer Lester's case, introduced in Season 2, was Ted's first big case of the show and also his first as a defense attorney.

After many obstacles and unexpected help from Stuart, he finally proved that Lester killing Simon was out of self-defense, defeating prosecutor Elizabeth Smith in court.

Sofia Pernas' Elizabeth Smith, the primary antagonist and a guest star on the spin-off series, might have lost against Ted Black and lost her credibility after Amanda's testimony, she proved to be a strong contender against the protagonist.

Since every strong hero needs an even stronger villain to prove his competence, Elizabeth's involvement in the show's future might work in favor of the spin-off. By posing a great challenge, but she would add much-needed depth to Ted and the other characters.

Here's more on why Elizabeth Smith should have a bigger role in Suits LA.

Elizabeth Smith's competence against Ted Black could be an exciting plot for Suits LA

Elizabeth Smith had all the makings of a typical antagonist, reminiscent of some iconic Suits villains like Travis Tanner and Daniel Hardman. While Pernas was included as a guest star on the spin-off show, and her character arc might seem over for now, the show could easily bring her back.

As the prosecutor against Ted Black's first case as a criminal lawyer, Elizabeth had an important role in Episode 6. In addition to her mysterious connection with Amanda, Elizabeth adds a fresh layer of intrigue to the show by proving that she is Ted's equal and that he would have to pull every trick to win against her.

One of the defining factors of Suits was its ability to spew intense courtroom scenes, which would have Harvey and Mike resorting to every measure to win. While Suits LA is still finding its rhythm, characters like Elizabeth are important to give Ted a run for his money and to show the audience his competence as a lawyer.

Fans seem to enjoy Elizabeth's past connection to Amanda in Suits LA

Since its premiere, Suits LA has been heavy on flashbacks and characters' back story. And while fans had mixed reviews of Ted's flashbacks, which are starting to play out in a monotonous manner, even Harvey Specter's 5-minute appearance could not make a case for them.

However, Amanda's mysterious connection to Elizabeth, which was fully revealed in Episode 6, seems to be working with the audience, proving that the guest character could add depth to the recurring characters.

As a Reddit user,u/DiamondFireYT, reviewed:

''Interesting dynamic between Amanda & Elizabeth! Can't wait to see where that goes. I really like the expanded scope of characters this go around, it gives them a lot to work with.''

With Elizabeth's backstory of how she has a way with reporters and can manipulate any situation according to her, she looks like a promising character who would work great against Ted Black.

Suits LA needs to make its protagonists connect with the audience. For them to love Ted as much as Harvey, he would have to prove his competence as a lawyer. Elizabeth could provide that opportunity and space for the characters, especially Ted, to shine. It would be interesting to see her back and get on Ted's nerves, which would likely bring out the best in him.
