Dani and Adan, the couple on Love on the Spectrum, decided to end their relationship in the last episode of Season 3, and fans are heartbroken. Throughout the installment, they saw their love grow and become a very beautiful bond, but it came down to one thing only, and that was intimacy.
Dani says that she wants to be in a mature adult relationship where physical intimacy is a part of it. However, Adan made it clear that he is not on board with having s*x before marriage and does not want to be pressured into it. Dani acknowledged his boundary and agreed that she would respect it.
But after much pondering and making a pros and cons list about Adan, she decided to call him and get clarity on their situation together. Even though they both were hurt and Dani was already in tears, the two made a decision to stay friends because that is what they are without the physical intimacy.
The fans were quite disappointed by the breakup, as everyone was hoping that they were endgame. The duo had been together for a year before they decided to call it quits.
Expressing their opinions about the entire thing, a fan wrote on Twitter,
"i’m so sad adan and dani broke up"
"Bawling ugly cry at Dani and Adans breakup love on the spectrum is so pure Dani is my girl," expressed another fan.
"I feel so bad for both Dani and Adan." said a user.
Talking about Adan and how "sweet" he was this season, a fan wrote,
"I hope next season we see Adan go on some date he seems like a really sweet person from love on the spectrum."
Love on the Spectrum Season 3 - Dani and Adan's journey
Dani and Adan started dating a year ago, and he revealed that the former is his first girlfriend. They went on a date earlier this season, and Dani asked him if they could go somewhere together and travel. He agreed with the sentiment and expressed how Mexico would be a great choice for them.
Furthering the conversation and making her desires known, Dani asked Adan if he would be okay with sleeping together as a romantic couple, to which he replied positively. He said he was open to the idea and would think about it.
He wants to do something like this only if it is protected and consensual. He highlighted the importance of safety and how, without it, people may get STDs.
Later in the Love on the Spectrum episode, Adan discussed with his father the conversation he had with Dani and finalized that he was not okay with being intimate before marriage because of religious reasons.
Then, during their anniversary dinner on episode 5, Dani made an animation and straight up asked Adan about doing the deed. However, he was uncomfortable and finally revealed to her his intentions.
After their date, Dani went to her aunt and uncle's house, where she devised a game plan to deal with the situation and move forward in her relationship with Adan. But by the end of it, we saw them breaking up because they were not on the same page about it.
As the Love on the Spectrum season ended, it was revealed that Dani is going out on dates and trying to find her person, while Adan is taking time off from dating to focus on school.
Love on the Spectrum Season 3 episodes are available to stream online on Netflix right now.
