Smile 2 has been delivering a gripping and terrifying experience to fans, both on and off the theaters; from its marketing campaign to the movie itself, fans have been spooked consistently.

The sequel follows Skye, a pop star, played by Naomi Scott, who becomes the latest victim of the deadly smile curse, as the monster unleashes chaos once more. The film's chilling conclusion offers a mix of suspense and uncertainty, keeping audiences on edge until the very last frame.
In Smile, Rose’s confrontation with the entity in the final act reveals the depths of her trauma and her unresolved conflict with her mother, whose monstrous version is seen in the end. It shows the unresolved guilt Rose carries.
Rose, in the end, realizes that she needs to outsmart the curse that was upon her, and to do that she needs to be alone, only then does it occur to go to her old family home, the sight where her mother died. This part makes it clear that Rose was present for her mother’s passing as a child and remains haunted by it.
Despite her best efforts to burn the house—and the curse—down, the entity ultimately overpowers her. By the end, Rose succumbs to the curse. She gets frustrated and gives up, eventually setting herself on fire in front of her ex-boyfriend, Joel. The entity then gets passed on to him, setting the plot for the next film.
Setting the stage for Smile 2
With Rose gone and the entity being passed on to someone else, the curse still remains alive and will most likely be explored in the next sequel. The sequel is expected to explore deeper layers of the curse, expanding on the themes of trauma and survival introduced in the first film.
Finn told the Latch about the sequel:
"I’d want to make sure that it’s not just a repeat of this film; it’d have to be something really unexpected with a bunch of surprises up its sleeve."
Rose’s demise in Smile leaves a lingering sense of dread that promises to carry into the sequel. Smile 2 came in 2 years after the release of the first part, and now fans can't wait for the third part to come out. The makers of the film have suddenly hinted at a third part.
