Slow Horses Season 4 ending has viewers and fans of the series reeling after an episode leaving you on the edge of your seat until the very last second. Episode 6 of the recently concluded action-thriller series picked up after River’s abduction from the convoy.
With four dogs down and a Slough House member at large, everyone was on high alert to locate him. While Diana wanted to find and interrogate him, the newbie First Desk at MI5 Claude Whelan overrides her order and puts out a shoot-to-kill order on him.
Simultaneously, Patrice ambushes the Slough House leaving them in a fight for their lives. Likewise, River also drops a major bombshell: Frank Harkness, the lethal mercenary is his biological father.
The father-son duo starts with dinner but ends with Harkness nonchalantly putting a live grenade into his son River’s hoodie! Thanks to Louisa’s quick thinking and no thanks to River panicking, she caught hold of it and quickly tossed it into the river where it exploded.
From there the episode circles back to Patrice entering the Slough House, raining down bullets on every last one of them, causing the death of Marcus Longridge, while everyone else survived the ordeal.

Who died in Season 4 Episode 6 of Slow Horses?
The beloved OG character Marcus Longridge played by Kadiff Kirwan died in Season 4 episode 6 of Slow Horses. This was an emotional moment for the entire team, especially Shirley since they were romantically involved.
It all started after Patrice broke into the Slough House, and started raining down bullets at everything in sight, starting with Roddy Ho. The computer wizard raced up the stairs in a poor attempt to save his life and hurled box after box at a maniacal Patrice who seemed to have an endless supply of bullets.
Nonetheless, Roddy scurried to a safe spot where Cathrine and the others were cautiously hiding after hearing gunshots. Just after Roddy was secured behind closed doors, Marcus, Shirley, and Patrice began engaging in a back-and-forth exchange of bullets while trying to escape being shot.
During this exchange, the enigmatic JK Cole finds Shirley hiding in the kitchen; he’s brewing a kettle of hot water. Mistaking him for making tea, Cole ends up throwing a pot of boiling water at Patrice, giving them an opening to make a run for the safe room.
While Cole momentarily separates from them after being shot in the shoulder (it was a graze), Marcus and Shirley were in the room anxiously waiting for Patrice to return. During this juncture, Marcus decided to go ahead and reassure Shirley about having a handle on it. Moments later, the group hears a gunshot.
It was sadly not Marcus who walked in seconds later - a mangled Patrice crouched with a gun aimed at Shirley. Before he could pull the trigger and cause one more loss, Gary Oldman’s character Lamb gets there in the nick of time and throws a bottle directly at his head. He and Shirley pretty much knocked Patrice out after.
Shirley sorrowfully glances at Lamb still in unbelief about his passing, but Lamb confirms her worst fears with a nod and advises her not to see his deceased figure. However, she storms off, leaving the rest reeling in the aftermath.

What happened to Patrice at the end of Season 4 Episode 6 of Slow Horses?
Right after Lamb takes down Patrice, he instructs Catherine to cuff him to the radiator and advises her to shoot if he does anything funny. Right after his exit, Shirley storms in, eyes full of hate and rage for her fallen lover.
She readies her gun and aims directly at Patrice’s head who taunts her to shoot while cuffed and unarmed.
Cathrine coaxes Shirley into lowering her weapon cautioning her about killing him in that manner. She claimed Shirley wouldn’t be able to sleep if she murdered Patrice this way, convincing her to back off.
Unconvinced Shirley was about to put a bullet in Patrice’s head, Coe surprisingly chimed in and asked her to let it go. He nudges her to deal with Patrice later and mentions Marcus dearly loved her no matter what.
That did it for Shirley because she lowered her gun and walked away without uttering a word. However, in the spur of the moment, Coe suddenly shoots Patrice who had just breathed a sigh of relief; his last breath, killing him instantly.
