Based on the book series by Mick Herron, Slow Horses follows the infamous Jackson Lamb (Gary Oldman), the leader of the MI5’s bunch of failed agents. Despite being a bunch of messed up agents, it is often this team that maintains the city’s safety.

The show is currently in its 4th season and the 4th episode aired on 25th September. The official synopsis of the season reads:

"Season 4 opens with a bombing that detonates personal secrets, rocking Slough House's already unstable foundations."

Like a typical Slow Horses episode, episode 4 was also a pretty intense one as it dealt with the unsolved situation regarding the London bombings and also shed light on a new theory.

With the storyline getting more complicated than ever, let us look at some aspects of the next episode which will air soon.

It has been made clear that Frank Harness had planned the bombings in London and also orchestrated the attempted assassination of David Cartwright, the veteran MI5 officer.

In episode 4, we are given more information on Frank’s motive behind sending an assassin after Sam Chapman, Cartwright’s former bodyguard. Moreover, River also returns from France as he finally understands what went down at Les Arbes.

At the end of episode 4, we see River returning to his grandfather’s house and going through a bunch of old stuff in the box. Surprisingly, he finds paintings very similar to what he had seen at the Les Arbes mansion.

The discovery of these paintings and the story behind their artist as told by Natasha makes River realize that he might not be David’s biological grandson and could have been adopted into the family. However, this is pure speculation at this stage.

By the end of episode 4, Emma Flyte catches River and episode 5 is very likely to deal with his interrogations with MI5.
