A new Paramount+ true crime docuseries, Sin City Gigolo, premiered on March 4, 2025, based on Ash Armand's crimes.
Ash Armand, formally known as Akshaya Kubiak, was one of the male escorts on the reality television series Gigolos, which premiered on Showtime in 2011. The show followed the lives of five escorts living in Las Vegas and their daily activities, including their interaction with their female clients.
Ash Arman made headlines in 2020 after he was arrested for the murder of Herleen Dulai, a 29-year-old woman.
Sin City Gigolo will look back at Ash's crimes and feature interviews with his friends, family, and ex-Gigolos contestants.
Here are 5 details about Ash Arman's crimes.
Sin City Gigolo: 5 details about Ash Armand's crimes
1) Who was Sin City Gigolo's subjects's victim?
The shocking details of Ash's crimes came to life when a 911 call was made from a residence on Blackstone Ridge Court in Las Vegas. Reportedly, Dulai was a biology student and very much involved in fitness.
She also worked as a gym fitness trainer but stopped working in early 2020 to explore other career opportunities. When the first responders reached the residence on July 16, 2020, they found Herleen's body, which was lying with a swollen and bloody face.
2) Sin City Gigolo's subject, Ash Armand, made the 911 call
While there was no time to get Herleen to the hospital, it was later discovered that Ash had made the 911 call and that it was his house. He claimed that he connected with Herleen about two months ago through their shared interest in fitness, but the nature of their relationship was unclear.
Ash also claimed that the events leading to Herleen's death were foggy in his mind as they both were high on drugs and psychedelic mushrooms. But he remembers Herleen attacked him after an argument, after which he hit her to protect himself, which eventually turned fatal for the woman.
3) What did Herleen's autopsy reports reveal?
According to the autopsy report, Herleen's cause of death was extreme blunt trauma force to the head and strangulation. She also had extensive wounds on her face and shoulders, which resulted in extreme swelling.
In addition, Herleen also suffered an extreme gum injury, which led the coroner to find a chipped tooth in her stomach. Various defensive wounds were also found on her forearms.
4) Sin City Gigolo subject Ash Armand surrendered in Dulai's murder

While Ash Armand maintained that he 'blacked out' and was foggy about the details of the unfortunate event, he surrendered and was immediately arrested.
While he initially pled not guilty, he eventually changed his verdict and pled guilty in September 2021 to voluntary manslaughter and mayhem. According to his defense attorney, Josh Tomsheck, Armand changed his verdict to not put more distress on Dulai's family and pleaded that the judge consider it while announcing the sentence for his client.
5) What sentence was given to the Sin City Gigolo subject?
Ash Armand was sentenced to 8 to 20 years in prison and is currently being held at Southern Desert Correctional Center in Las Vegas, Nevada.
During his trial, he maintained that he hit Dulai in self-defense, noting:
“I have never hit a woman in my life, and I certainly never wanted to hurt Herleen,”
Dulai's brother, Dr. Parambir Dulai, urged the judge to sentence Ash for the brutalities of his crimes as his sister was brutally beaten to death:
“She wasn’t simply taken from us; she was brutally beaten to death.”
