Silo and Fallout are both series that belong to the science fiction drama genre. Created by Graham Yost, Silo is grounded in the trilogy of the same name authored by Hugh Howey which consists of Wool, Shift, and Dust.

The plot of the series takes place in a grim and bleak future where a group of people stay undergound in a huge Silo, which goes down to 144 floors. The people have to follow the rules and regulations underground. The series is available to watch on Apple TV+.

Set after catastrophic events, Fallout is grounded in a role playing, post apocalyptic video game. Available to watch on Amazon Prime Video, the series is about what happens after the nuclear Great War of 2077 between the US and China.

This results in resource wars and a retrofuturistic society. Surviors now live in vaults and are subjected to expereince. The movie tells the story of Lucy who leaves her vault to go to the devastated outside world in order to find her kidnapped father.

1) Both series have different reasons behind their dystopian world

The dystopian world in Fallout is the result of a nuclear apocalyptic war called The Great War which happens in 2077 between the United States and China. The world finds itself devastated after the war which was fuelled by nuclear technology.

In Silo, the world has become a wasteland and the residents of the Silo are informed and made to believe that the world outside is toxic and poisonous. The humans are made to wear suits to stay protected from toxic fumes.

2) Both have different takes on technology in a post apocalyptic world

In Silo, technology hasn't advances as immensely as it did in Fallout after the apocalypse. The underground residents don't rely on technology as much and only have access to technology which is aging.

In Fallout, surviving humans have access to advance technology, weaponry, and armors. They rely on advanced techology as even after the war, humans continued to evolve technology.

3) Both differ in showing supernatural elements
