The second episode of Silo Season 2 looks into the drama inside Silo 18 in the immediate aftermath of Juliette's departure and ends with a shocker when Judge Meadows appears to want out. The storyline of season 2 picks up exactly from the point where Season 1 left.

The story is focused between two narratives: Juliette's travels outside of Silo 18 and the repercussions of her leaving the central silo. While episode 1 focuses on Juliette, her departure in episode 2 soon sparks a revolution in Silo 18. Realizing that her departure could pose a threat to their vault, Bernard takes the moment seriously and brings Judge Meadows into the equation.

Although Meadows seems apathetic about the situation, she eventually feels that this is an opportunity to fulfill one of her goals. Bernard welcomes the fact that Meadows is finally working with him, hoping that their partnership will save Silo; little does Bernard know that Judge Meadows has something else in mind.

Everything that goes down between Judge Meadows and Bernard in Silo Season 2 episode 2 recap

In episode 2, Bernard desperately goes to Meadow's apartment to ask for her help. He wants her to be there when he addresses the people of the Silo, but Meadow refuses. However, after Bernard speaks at the podium, falsely claiming to have developed a new type of tape, he is surprised by Meadow's appearance, which supports his claim.

Much later, in Meadow's flat, she reveals to Bernard what she wants in return for her services. Meadow's desire to leave suggests that she, like other Silo residents, is tired of the restrictions.

She seems to know a little more than most about the outside world and the higher powers within the Silos, but she still does not have all the answers and is tired of her confined life. When she learns that Juliette has reached the top of the hill with her new heat tape, she sees it as a chance to be free.

Why does Bernard need Judge Meadows to be present during the speech?

After Juliette leaves Silo 18 for the deserted Silo 17 in Season 2, Episode 1, she finds only dead bodies. The second episode continues the same timeline as the first, but this time focuses on what happened in Silo 18 when Juliette left. The people see Juliette cross the hill unharmed, and this starts a riot, so Mayor Bernard has to deceive them to quell the escalating riot.

People freak out at this realization -, if Juliette was able to survive outside, the atmosphere might not be as toxic as people once thought. This would mean that she might be able to leave the silo safely. However, they don't know about the hundreds of dead people in the neighboring silo: a grim scene that Mayor Bernard has just seen on Juliette's footage before the signal goes black.

Bernard portrays Juliette as a heroine, saying she was testing a new tape developed by IT and died after crossing the hill. He lies to his citizens, saying that Juliette volunteered for the experiment. After declaring her a hero, Bernard proclaims her bravery and how she survived longer than others outside.

Despite having no hard evidence of Juliette's death, Bernard tries to maintain control by convincing people that his team is developing new methods of recording, even though he knows individuals are working against him.

Episode 2 of Silo Season 2 suggests that Bernard is forming a new alliance, but there's a twist: his ally, Judge Meadows, is seeking the same freedom that Juliette experienced.

What does Judge Meadow want from Bernard?

Bernard comes before Judge Meadow and asks her to be his shadow, saying that he will only listen to her, Meadow agrees, but on one condition: once the storm has calmed down, she wants the same freedom as Juliette and hopes to leave the Silo.

Meadow turns to Bernard and asks him to smuggle her some good-quality tape from IT. She asks him if she is no better than a puppet, even as the head of justice. Like everyone else in the Silo, she feels powerless and wants freedom more than anything else.
