Apple TV+'s hit series Shrinking returned for its sophomore season this fall, and continues to engage viewers with its unique narrative. The show focuses on its titular character Jimmy Laird, an exceptional therapist who after losing his wife abandoned the traditional method of treating his clients.

Though Shrinking follows a fictionalized story, creators Bill Lawrence and Brett Goldstein also took inspiration from their life experiences for a resonating plot. While Jimmy is the focus of the series, it also stars other acclaimed actors from the industry including Harrison Ford, Christa Miller, and more.

Among the key figures in Jimmy's life who add depth to his character is his daughter Alice, played by actress Lukita Maxwell. In Shrinking season 1, Alice grew emotionally distant from her father, as he was too occupied with his grief to support her.
